As we all know you can't Read All,let lift some burden by sharing What you think your colleagues should know... The subject The topic And what you wanna share Related Jamb question FORMAT Chemistry Collection of gases Non-metals and their compounds ********** Gases heavier than Air are collected by Downward delivery/Upward displacement ;Those lighter than Air are collected by upward delivery/downward displacement.. Unlike solids and liquids, at least ideally, a mole of any gas at standard conditions has a volume of 22.4 liters. Since air is 78% nitrogen (Mol. wt. 28) and 21% oxygen (mol. wt. 32) air itself has an average mol. wt. of around 29 (I’m too lazy to do the math, but you can). So any gas that has a higher molecular weight than that would be heavier than air. Ar is 40, CO2 44, etc. Which of these gases is collected by upward delivery A)NH3 B)HCL C)CL D)O2 PS:this is method we use to collect gases soluble in water Lalasticlala Mynd44 Fynestboi FP pls |
