Why Won't Nairaland Get A Good App And Responsive Interface? by Nobody: 1:27am On Mar 06, 2018
I have been a member of this forum officially for 4 years or so, I am just bothered why nairaland.com won't upgrade for how many years now.

Seun and Co what's wrong??

Look at Quora for instance, sometimes I enjoy visiting Quora more than Nairaland, if not for my kind of business,

Seriously Nairaland webmasters are not active.

Look at Facebook, every second a new feature is been added.

As it stands Nairaland doesn't have an official app, in 2018?? SmH

If you click on the link below ( first image) it gives u an error message (second screen shot).

Seun and Co should do something. Lalasticala take note

I think Nairaland is fine the way it is ..I am a programmer as well, I read a lot about psychology too.
And I think majority of people, are satisfied with the way it is .
I don't think you understand what it means for an interface to be responsive, NL is one of the most responsive sites in Nigeria, even on browsers like Opera Mini that gives developers tough time.
Not all websites need an app, not all websites need over bloated features.Nairaland and its minimalistic approach is one of the things that makes it unique and FAST
If you have a suggestion for a feature you can drop it, because all you did was complain without suggesting anything cool cool.

Let me give u a practical example, the emoji u just used is from which generation Mr programmer??

Psychology has nothing to do with the fact that Seun and team are just lazy and after advert money.

You just argued again without making a valid point.

PS: If you don't understand human psychology, you can't build a product people would love and use consistently.

Every business is done for money,as long as you can satisfy your users/clients,that's what is key.

Again sir, i ask what are you not satisfied with and what suggestion do you have, because you have still not made any .

As a user I have the right to complain.

And it even out of my love for Nairaland that am doing this.

Have a nice day.

You're a programmee doesn't mean you're business inclined. In fact, you know nothing about human psychology cause if you do, you won't take this thread a joke. I myself finds it weird in the sense that for years now, NL remains the same. No atom of evolution whatsoever and you're here spilling horseshit about human psychology.

The only reason NL still stand is because she has amassed great readership, but for improvements, it's lagging behind.

I won't blame suen anyway. He didn't code this forum from scratch, just a script he bought or perhaps, got from somewhere.

Shalom.

You don't have to be abusive to have a conversation.
You all are just complaining without making any point
You can't just go to the doctor and say "I am not feeling fine" , what part of you is not fine .What feature do you want, una no fit talk.
You claim you want evolution you are not saying what exactly you want to evolve.
I have "attacked" Seun earlier this week on the need to make payment for ads and approval automatic, thats how to lay a complain. You can't just keep saying you want improvement without saying what you want to improve. Can you just call a Taxi and tell him "Take me anywhere "

Sorry if you found my response to this thread abusive. The tone of your write up sounds the same, even mockery could be found.

This forum have been the same for ages, is it that the founder doesn't have a team that brings in new features? Looks like the only team suen has are mods who specialise in abusing their ban power and moving irrelevant threads to FP. You want me to start fishing out features that should be integrated? That's laughable. He should get a team whose job is to brainstorm for new ideas.

We the users have a right to complain. Users who have asked for features like dislike button, cool emojis, standard app version of the site etc are uncountable. At the end of the day, such threads end up in oblivion.

Don't quote me again cause I discovered you aren't objective. I don't exhaust time dangling with folks like you online. No insult intended.

Shalom!

Kudos Donald3d you really made a valid point and you know exactly what you said, how the op and the other guy made complain without a valid pont baffles me, they are just boomerang, beating round the bush. Most persons on nairaland love the look of nairaland including me myself. I would'nt want seun to change anything that would make the site look too heavy on data consumption cause nigeria epileptic ISP are so daft due to their exhorbitant fees and charges for internet connection and also can you even see what Glo is doing to peeps infact let me not even go there.

Apart from that, let me also make a point raised by the OP that made me think is either confuse or does not know what is really saying in regards to responsive website. Responsive ordinarily as a webmaster in my own terms, responsive website means anything that can fit the screen of any device without an obscure view in the text or images. So when OP says nairaland is not responsive i dont really Know what he meant by that because nairaland is a real definition of a responsive website. It open and fit well on all my Handheld devices including my destop computer, laptop and Pda.

In my own verdict nairaland is beautiful and i like the simple look and i can also relate that most nigerians like it. Peace..

In my opinion, Nairaland needs

- Dislike button
- Built-in messaging system. Why should you pm me then we start talking via email? Let the pms be "in-house"
- Online payments for ads and automatic approvals
- Improved emoji
- Optional account verification like facebook and the likes

Perhaps you should come and work with me so you can implement your ... brilliant? ... ideas instead of just running your mouth. Cheers.
