Kwara South Suffers Water Scarcity Than Any District In Nigeria. by Gbadeyan1: 4:07am On Mar 06, 2018
*Water Scarcity: Kwara South Suffer More*

Today, on our way to OKE ỌDẸ in Ifẹlodun Local Government Area of Kwara State to distribute exercise books sponsored by *FRESH INSIGHT FOUNDATION in partnership with Engr. Nurudeen Adeyẹmi THE ENACT* to the pupils and Students of some schools along that axis, we met a woman under this bridge fetching an unhygienic water into her Jerry cans. Flowing beneath this bridge located before *OLAYINKA TOWN* is *Oyi River* , and it is sardonically pitiable that its contents are shared by the the people of this community with cattle whose defecation can be seen all round the bank of this river, unbelievable, we sighted a man taking his bath in nudity at some close corner under the bridge with same water.

Speaking with the woman and another Fulani man whom we met on the bridge, we were told that, that river serves as the source of water for good people of this community as they have no any other alternative one and they conceded to have resigned to their unfortunate fate. The woman came all away from *AGUNJIN* town to fetch this dirty water, Agunjin to this bridge is not less than 25 minutes walk, though the woman came with an old Mercedes Benz to carry the Jerry Cans.

Some few meters from that spot, we met another old woman with her container under another bridge digging dry land to source for water.

This is not Kwara of our dream! We didn't bargain for such degradation and dehumanization when we voted this government to power! Why?

Water has remain a misery and we are hoping its menace would be tamed by April as promised by government through his SSA Media Dr. Akorede, we just hope it won't be wishful thinking.

Kwara Central are having palliative tanker water scheduling for distribution across the towns on daily basis, the government should please remember Kwarans at other parts of North and South with tankers to remedy their situation as it worse more than imagine.
