Press Release: The Era Of Importing Textile Materials For Producing Security Agencies’ Uniform Will Soon Come To An End- Interior Minister.

The Honourable Minister of Interior, Lt General (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau has announced plans to put an end to the importation of textile materials for producing uniforms by all Services under the Ministry of Interior.

General Dambazau made the disclosure when the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, His Excellency, Governor Kashim Shettima, led the management team of the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) to the Ministry of Interior to seek the Ministry’s support for the revitalization of its textile industry. The meeting which also had in attendance, the Minister for Agriculture, Dr Audu Ogbe, The CG Custom, Col Hameed Ali Rtd, and Controller Generals of Immigration, Prisons, Federal Fire Service as well as the representatives of the Inspector General of Police and CG Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, applauded the plans to domesticate the production of uniform materials and other accoutrements used by security Services in Nigeria.

The Interior Minister use the occasion to remind the various heads of agencies at the meeting, the need to adhere strictly to the Executive Order on support for local content in public procurement. He admonished them to be guided by the above mentioned Presidential Order in procuring uniforms and other accoutrements captured in the 2018 budget, while hoping that the current effort at reviving the nation’s textile industries will ensure the complete production of uniforms and other accoutrements locally, by 2019. Dambazau further noted the need to support the revitalization of the Nigeria textile industry. He said domesticating the production of security personnel uniforms, will not only boost Nigeria’s gross domestic products, it will also create employment opportunities for our teeming youths, reduce proliferation of such uniforms by criminal elements, while deepening internal security.

In their separate submissions, the Minister for Agriculture, Dr Audu Ogbe, the CG Customs, Hameed Ali and heads of security agencies in the Ministry of Interior were unanimous on the overall gains of domesticating the production of security Services uniforms in Nigeria, while the heads of the agencies pledged their commitment to implement the Executive Order on support for local content in public procurement.

Ehisienmen Osaigbovo.
Press Secretary, to the Honourable Minister of Interior.

When are we going to realize that economy does not respond to 'orders'?
Why are we so militarized?
Before importation is banned, our domestic textile industries must be up and running. Besides we know the elites don't patronize them. We all know they wear foreign-made attires.
They should not plunge the masses into unnecessary suffering by banning importation when our local industries are dead.
Sometimes I wonder if people were 'ordered' into uttering hypocritical statements.

Producing the fabrics from where? The moribund textile industries?
If they want to create jobs there's no need to announce it.
Simply revive the textile industries and ban importation.
There's no need to call a 'press conference' for this right?

I will not believe all this hogwash until they revive the industries, not coming to tell us nonsense about banning this or that when they've clearly refused to do what they ought to have done.
It's not rocket science.

Did you read the thread well or you just body itching for buhari? Bc it seems you reacted without a proper comprehension

Ok' now listing

Thread says ministers are aligning with others to facilitate and revitalize our textile industries also to make it domesticate across nation wide. Without banning the importation of textiles how do you think revitalizing the industries will happen fast ? You people should try and see reasons sometimes

Banning everything left and right. No light to even confirm what is banned. No wisdom applied by this administration.

Don't worry on banning to force market because even the producers you want to help don't have affordable power supply to be confident in their works. Now you ban peoples' goods then they ban yours. Unnecessary trade war.

Einstein, first it is listen not listing.
I don't care who is aligning with who. You know why?
Cos actions speak louder than words. Unfortunately, all those ministers and senators do is to align and 'talk'. Don't act like you're not aware. Talk is cheap. You revive the industries, then you ban importation. Just because you want to get a new car doesn't mean you should sell the bike you have and start trekking and saving to buy a new car. Just an analogy.
If they want to fix it, they should fix it. Forget all this banning noise they're making.
Will banning importation of fabrics stop them from flying to fashion shows abroad to purchase the foreign fabrics?
Before you conclude about my comprehension or lack of it, pull the log of wood lodged in your cerebral cortex and engage your brain so that you'll realize that all you've been fed are lies and will continue to be fed lies.
For God sake how long will you continue to stand in for this phony and dodgy characters?
Wake up!
