Not his own righteousness either sis. We have no righteousness of our own to recommend us to God. Only the Righteousness of the Son of God, the Righteous One.

As far as this topic is concerned, I wanna believe that the guy is jumping to a conclusion-the wrong one in this instance; it's more likely the fact the guy isn't a member of the Anglican church. Orthodox churches can be quite formalistic. (Catholic church for eg won't administer Corpus Christi to anyone not baptized in the Catholic church)

Methinks this guy is probably trying to draw attention to his beard, which looks great by the way. But please don't conclude this way. It reflects poorly on the church

Lets leave that for the pastor to reiterate; I suppose, he is not the first to keep beards in the Anglican church

The priest wants to avoid a situation where hairs from your beard would fall into the communion cup. In the Anglican church, worshippers drink from one cup. It would be unfair to other members if they drink the wine with pieces of hair. Why do you think restaurant/eatery staff cover their hair?

Its a standard in Anglican Churches that they refuse men with heavy mustache same way they refuse women with lickstick. Think about it for a minute, how would you feel knowing that you are drinking from same cup another man's hair might have possibly entered while drinking from the cup you are about to drink from? Same way there has been a case of a man having a trace of lipstick on his side lips after taking communion and it became a problem at home with his wife. If you are actually a member of the church and you did your confirmation (proceedings before certified to take communion) i'm sure you were told all of these, but you refused because you dont think its necessary and now you are heartbroken. Young man go and do the right thing.

From a health and safety point of view, maybe they're scared your hair may fall into the cup shared by everyone.
I think they should start using small shot containers for communion, so people don't get to share the cup

why not separate his cup from the rest. What about others with medical condition that's not visible like tuberculosis, whooping cough etc
