Fashola's ministry of darkness. Call your heads darkness branches to order by taxpayers the electricity we paid for.

Maybe we need to start giving juju to Nigerian politicians seeking elected seats to swear after swearing with the bible and quran.

Only in Nigeria that taxpayers are not getting what we are paying for with our hard earned money. Is Nigeria a country or zoo republic?

Nigerians are some of the funniest people in the world.

You won't pay your light bills, the local DISCO comes and disconnects you, and then you go and attach charm to prevent the DISCOS from doing their jobs.

Meanwhile, because of people not paying their bills, DISCOS and GENCOS don't have money to make thing work better, to improve generation, to fix stuff.

So, we continue in darkness.

The sad thing is that religion is co-opted into this mess.

Tell them to stop using Estimated bills and give everyone prepaid meters. It is only Nigeria you pay for what you dont use. Imagine giving a 2- bedroom flat #20,000. If they make things like telecoms; if you dont have credit you cant have light.
Discos will not give light 3 out of 4 weeks and yet we will be forced to pay for what we dont use.
In as much I dont subscribe to violence; we should be treated rightly

Even with meters, people bypass them.

That is the sad issue we face.

It's a simple thing, just knock off the whole area serving the transformer for the rest of the year grin
Or remove the jumper feeding the hv that serves the transformer for a year grin
Let's see who will suffer NEPA or red cloth people grin

You know those great world leaders that lead by example and have a simple life style. They wear one cloth. Such leaders were able to convince the masses to work together so that the entire nation will benefit. In such counties, the system works.
-
In Nigeria, the people untop are not leaders. The lead lavish expensive life styles at the expense of tax payers' money.
-
People refuse to pay bills because they do not like the system that rewards our rulers with lavish life styles and no accountability.

Our rulers owe us accountability and we owe each other the Truth to bring them to justice instead of currying favour from them to gain one contract or the other.

Here is Gandhi, a leader for India. He threw away his coat and tie and started dressing this way. Is India better or worse than Nigeria today?

It is not about bypassing.
I lived in UK once. The meter was in one hidden corner of the house. You can't even see any wire entering the house talkless of bypassing the meter. The government built the house and put the meter there based on their NATIONAL British Standards. Every house MUST follow standard other wise they knock it down.

Everybody just pays either rent or mortgage on the property. No one is expected to buy land, clear bush and build house all by himself THEN follow National standard. You are not superman.
-
When everything is standardised, laws are easier to obey.

Akoko in Ondo state precisely, calculating the whole hours in which power supply is being enjoyed in a whole month, I'll be exaggerating if I say it is up to 120 hours, yet at the end of the month, these guys will bring bill of over #50,000... How, where and when do they measure and calculate this bill?
How do you even expect people to pay for what they're being deprived of? I wonder why Nigerians are too wicked, deciding to put your fellow countrymen in total power outage with no reason! That's bad.
Do you have any explanation to that?
