There was confusion in Kogi on Sunday, March 11, as the governor of the state, Yahaya Bello reportedly fired all his commissioners, members of the executive council as well as the 21 administrators of the local government areas.

Few minutes later, however, Governor Bello reversed the decision. Premium Times reports that Bello’s action was announced by the governor at an ongoing meeting he held with all political appointees at the Government House Lokoja, the state capital.

The report quoted a source as saying the governor directed all the 15 commissioners and 21 local government administrators to submit the keys to their official vehicles to the Secretary to State Government (SSG). According to the report, the source who was not named, quoted Bello as saying new commissioners and administrators are to be announced immediately.
