Senate To Write CJN Over Court’s Judgment Stopping Electoral Act Amendment by sharpden: 1:27pm On Mar 15
THE Nigerian Senate has resolved to write the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Walter Onnoghen, to expressed its reservations about the judgment by a Federal High Court stopping the National Assembly from overriding President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto on the amended Electoral Act.

This is sequel to a motion moved by Senator Godswill Akpabio on Thursday at the plenary.

Akpabio said the judgment amounted to “an abuse of the principle of separation of powers.”

His submission was unanimously granted, which led to the resolution of the upper legislative chamber to write the CJN.
