AFRICAN PARENTING STUDIES

The new generation in Africa does not understand the meaning of marriage and young African couples do not really possess the nitty-gritty of bringing up children that will not worsen the existing problems of the society.

In a complete observation, the comtemporary African society marries because of several reasons that none points at the ethics of the traditional African milieu and the continuation of the African humanly ethos.

This invading foreign human traits on Africa have tempered with the peaceful co-existence of the "Afric-Sapiens" and many fingers can boldly point at the infiltration of western parenting styles into typical African families.

Africans now consider the western values more with the ignorance of the deterioration of their Africanness. This means that an African family in the present era is measured with an annoyingly, pitiable percentage of 90 is to 10; inwhich the previous anchors the totality of western world while the latter represents a dying African sensibility.

By critical implications, real Africans are
endangered species because the rest are simply Africans by virtue of title and not in anyway by the understanding of African Norms.

African children must understand the African
flavour, they must be fully initiated into the "Africandom," not only by the chance of birth but by the wholeness of the African patterns visible in them.

One of the methodological applications that will curb and eradicate this menace in the African plain, is the introduction and the implementation of "African parenting Studies" in higher institutions.

This will push forward the soon-to-be-totally-lost African society to her greatness.
