Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has urged those politicians that played role in bringing President Muhammadu Buhari into power to seek the face of God for forgiveness.

Fayose, a controversial and well-known critic of Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) made this known on Monday at a meeting of the Osoko Mass Movement attended by representatives of labour unions, civil servants and public institutions in the state.


The outspoken governor said all economic indices have worsened since 2015 when the Buhari administration came to power in the country.

He said,

“People that brought Buhari must seek repentance. People thought he was coming to make a difference but he has caused more economic hardship. We are being ruled by fiat. Unemployment is second to none. The Transparency International said corruption had become worse among Nigerians.”

Fayose also accused Buhari of wasting over N40 billion on oil exploration in the north with nothing to show for it.

Those who brought him power did so because it was expedient. Majority of Nigerians yearn for a change.

Those who should repent and seek for forgiveness are those who see him as their meal ticket and would like to perpetuate him in power.

Those who stole blindly and cluelessly should also seek forgiveness for making GMB an option in the first instance
