GUT! THIS IS GOOD!

At least the new governor of Ondo state is thinking outside the box.

Come on do you think a project like this is his idea? Where is the evidence for that.

This is something that has been several years in planning by The Federal Government as part of a Wider West African project.

You say he is thinking out of the box Sorry it iss not his baby

.Who is paying for it?

Somehow state governors do not like interfering in Federal roads, when FERMA should be involved in maintenance.

Good.
In some maps, Ogun is a coastal state while in others, it isn't.

Now this project seems to favour the latter.
Ogun is a coastal state. Ode-Omi which happens to be my community is d coastal gateway to Ogun state. It shares boundary with Lekki LGA and Ilaje, I hope that helps.

Regardless of who is responsible for the road state or federal, its just irresponsible trying to gain cheap popularity with all this new projects when a simple cheaper existing project that serves the same purpose needs attention.

The Lagos Benin road is a federal road and this project is a federal project. Its a matter of deploying resources judiciously and that's one of the problems of this nation because of dull people in government who are also corrupt its Double jeopard for us in this country.

it is a indeed a coastal state. Ode-Omi is a coastal community in Ogun state, though there is still a lingering dispute on the community between Lagos state and Ogun state because of the purported 'oyel and gas deposit' in d town. But as we speak now Ode-Omi is administered from Abeokuta. How do I know? That is my community! Make I come go get property Lawyer oh. Land go soon skyrocket for there! grin grin

Ogun Waterside LGA
Though technically d community is supposed to be in Lagos, but those old grandpas n.a. dem go follow Ogun state go during state creation.
This road would open up d community, d only access used to be water from Makun in Ogun, Ise in Lagos and Ilaje in Ondo.

It is better to inform yourself well before venting. A project like this takes many years to plan. It is not "new" and certainly not the child of the current government. A project that cuts across 3 states is not a capricious one especilally when it involves the Niger Delta Development Commission

The essential idea of this project is to connect the oil producing communities of Ondo state to Lagos. It has been planned for a long time
The source of funding : NDDC and Osopadec Should explain that . It is funded by Oil money through and through.

Technically ? Wha are you talking about.

Lagos state has always had 5 DIVISIONS
LAGOS
EPE
IKORODU
BADAGRY
IKEJA

even before the state was created .

LAGOS DIVISION wa the FCT under the Federal Governent and the oher 4 divisions were in the Western Region.

Those administrative divisions existed before independence under colonial government.
They were removed from the estern Region ad addded to Lagos Division to create Lagos State.

There is no technical Basis for those communities to be in Lagos State as they were never part neither of Ikorodu nor Epe Divisions

Its people like you that they will continue to deceive with long elephant projects like this that we know will probably come into existence when we are all dead and gone while a simple one that has been in use and is in a need of rehabilitation is causing hardship to the citizens.

NDDC and osopadec should explain what exactly. Has NDDC finished connecting community's where oil is found with other communities within the same state? How long does it usually take NDDC to finish a road project eg east west road.

Thanks for clarifying.
In short, Ogun is not a coastal state.

The fact that not all areas in Lagos are exposed to the coast, does that make it a non coastal area. So far a section of the state is opened to the coast, it makes it a coastal state. If you consider the size of ijebu water side alone, it's bigger that the whole of lekki plus VI

You didn't get my point. What I am saying is that, by land Ode-Omi to Ise in Epe division is not more than 10 minutes on a good road. Whereas there is no link between Ode-Omi and other communities in Ogun by land. The closest community is Makun and there is a long stretch of lagoon separating the two towns. So, Ode- Omi ought to have been in Epe division. May be that is why Lagos is disputing the fact that the community belongs to it.
