We all av these very stubborn insects that we want to get rid of sometimes, and we think that regular insecticides would not work. Next stop? Sniper and the other allied "xcals" that are readily available. You'd probably have heard of Sarin, Novichok and VX agent recently.

What does sniper have with these nerve agents listed above? They are all originally pesticides. Most pesticides belong to the organophosphate family and have varying toxicities on nervous systems in animals, and yes, humans, depending on the dosage-strength

Now back to sniper, the active ingredient in this pesticide (and other similar ones retailed in those small bottles) is DDVP (Dichlorvos). It acts on the nervous system of insects, and other small animals, poisoning them gradually.

DDVP (Sniper) is absorbed through inhalation, and can also be absorbed through the skin, also in humans. While it might seem an excellent pesticide, it is not manufactured for your residential everyday insecticide usage

I need not introduce the effects of ingestion of these chemical (either accidental or suicidal). It is lethal and rapidly fatal, even in small quantities, if medical attention isn't given promptly.

These agents aren't made for everyday use like I said, as listed in the manufacturer warnings listed below:

LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The user bears the risk of damage resulting from factors beyond the manufacturer's control. The manufacturer declines all liability for damage resulting from improper storage and usage of this product

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
-Do not use if under medical advice not to work wit such compounds
-It is toxic in contact wit d skin or if swallowed
-Very toxic by inhalation
-Flammable & corrosive
-Keep unprotected persons out of treated area for at least 12hrs
-Ventilate well before reentry

The manufacturer's disclaimer is written on d bottle, but we hardly read it.Sniper is not manufactured for everyday use, you should use protective gear while using it (nose masks, liquid proof gloves).Steer clear of the area it is used for at least 12hrs, and ventilate adequately

Most importantly, like all dangerous compounds, keep away from the reach of children, use only when necessary, and use safely. If ingested, seek help in a hospital immediately! No drinking of palm oil or milk edakun, no need to be exhibiting your wannabe herbalist skills.

Better alternatives exist. Use insecticide treated mosquito nets if mosquitoes are the order of the day. They are cheap, safe and effective. Regular insecticides work fantastically too mostly. If you need to get rid of bed bugs, please call a fumigation specialist

Stay safe, stay woke, stay healthy.
The end!!!

This isn't exactly Sniper, it's another brand. But they all mostly have the same active component, DDVP

My wife and I just finished discussing this very topic and 2 minutes later, I come across this thread. What a coincidence!
I think mosquito nets are the best bet these days as our Mosquitoes these days have become nearly immune to regular insecticides (which in turn have become very expensive). At worst they "faint" and wake up later in the night more deadly and angry.

Your narrative is hilarious! grin
Well, I happen to currently live in a residential area with very minimal mosquito burden. In 3 months I might not see a single mosquito in my house. However, that's because there are no open drainage or still water around. Getting rid of these and clearing surrounding bushes might reduce the population of these gangsta mosquitoes significantly
