You can do your own bit inthe fight against corruption, by not accepting what those who try to blackmail the fight say. Ribadu has said that 60% of the media houses are owned by corrupt politicians who are bent on using their media outfit to blackmail his agency.

Support Ribadu and corruption will be history.

Fighting corruption has both domestic and international elements. For the latter,we need an International treaty that will make it unlawful for any financial instituition to handle money in respect of which there are reasonable grounds to suspect that it was unlawfully obtained.

At the domestic level,we need stronger economic growth that will remove the incentive for corruption among ordinary Nigerians.

A well funded judiciary and law enforcement system .

We probably need a new body that has constitutionally derived powers(an EFCC that derives its powers from the constituition) which has the neccessary autonomy to investigate and prosecute cases of corrpution at the higher echelons of Govt.It will not be subject to the Statute of Limitations and should have retroactive powers

You cant root out corruption completely - even in Europe and America - there is corruption but on a lower scale than elsewhere in Africa, we can reduce corruption by supporting the government to fight known corrupt persons and also make sure they dont get to rule us again. If politics is seen as serving the people rather than a way to becoming rich, then corruption will be reduced. How can you explain someone who got to government and only four years in government became so rich to start and airline business?
