Dear brothers, i got an offer for a toyota solara for around 300k. I would haveto change engine asthre is none therein right now. I have tried chexking the price of a 3.0 v6 engine but havebeen unablw to get a reliable price. Do you think this is a good buy buy? I was told every other thing is intact.
What do you think buy or not buy?
Thanks.

The engine is around 150k to 170k
My concern is other unknown issues that may arise after changing the engine .
Buying a Nigerian used car is not a good idea talk more of buying the one without engine.

If you must buy ooo
The seller should reduce the price to 200k and give you a written guarantee that is only the engine that is bad..

Remember is also v6 selling it is also very hard

Not a good buy.

Car will be filled with suprises.

1. If you install a new engine and it does not start,
you will be faced with possible electrical/electronic issues (wiring, transponder, immobiliser, engine ecu kinda sh1t)

2. If it starts and you slip into drive and the transmission does not work, not only will you have to drop the engine again (pay Labour twice) you will need a possible transmission replacement.

3. If you lucky and everything works, you still have suspension and a/c sh1t to deal with (Nigerian used car standard problems)

Good buy would be 100k grin

This is not a vehicle of any significance even when not pillaged. If it was a classic or much newer model then yeah.

Walk away.

Buying a Nigerian used car is something the buyer needs to be out to handle,it is always riddled with too many issues, suspension, Ac, body noise issues, I will never advise any one to try it,I did and got burnt, thanks to God that I had the finance to foot the cotinous daily issues till it became manageable.

You're spot on.

I bought a Naija used 4Runner, I've spent about N350K maintaining it but I allocated N500K so I'm still ahead. A comparable vehicle would cost me over N2M landed from the US so I'm still good.

What are d faults. I wouldn’t want to come down all the way to Lagos and deal with things I cannot handle. Best you tell me what they are

I really thought this deal was a good one hence my consideration. However, after my first car, a used 2004 Kia optima showed me hell on earth, I knew i had to ask for opinions before doing this one.
I have a very decent official vehicle that I use daily. I just needed an assistant vehicle on the side.
Thanks for replies so far.
Gracia's.
