How Commodore Gbenga Oyetotan Of Naval Base, sapele Abducted&threatened Darasimi by scoty2910: 4:45pm On Mar 27, 2018
JUSTICE FOR ABDUCTION OF MY WIFE THREAT TO OUR LIVES AND INTIMIDATION BY COMMODORE GBENGA OYETOYAN ATTACHED TO NAVAL BASE SAPELE, DELTA STATE, NIGERIA.

This commodore whose photograph appears below and his boys stormed our facility located at Ilupeju Rd, Oluyole Extension Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria around 1 pm on 25th of February, 2018. demanded from my wife where she kept his wife and children.

My wife responded that she doesn’t know what he was saying because she doesn’t know him, he responded by saying my wife was pretending and instructed his boys to beat my wife openly this act drew the attention of the customers and passerby at the premises who intervened only for him to point gun to them he will kill anyone who tries to raise any alarm.

They bundled my wife inside the tinted glass Toyota Camry they brought, denied her to pick any of her belonging and zoomed off without trace or contacts on how to locate them.

I received a call from one of the customers my wife was attending to at her beauty care salon that some people approached my wife, assaulted her and took her away forcefully threatening to shoot anyone of them that tries to raise any alarm.

Immediately, I rushed down to the salon but before I got there two of the customers that witnessed the incident had gone to lodge complaint at Oluyole Police Station in Ibadan, while I went to Kuola police station where I was referred to Apata Police Station which they said falls under the jurisdiction of where the crime took place.
At both Oluyole/Apata Police Station, our statement was taken and immediately an Anti-robbery squad was dispatched to my wife’s beauty care salon for further interrogation from the customers on the ground.

More than two hours later, I received a call from my wife with a strange number informing me that she has been taken to Mokola Officer’s mess that commodore Gbenga Oyetoyan said his wife and kids were in her custody, claiming he has the call log between his wife and my wife, to which my wife told him to show her the evidence.

I promptly went to the officers’ mess, but on getting there, I was informed by the officer I met at the military police post at Mokola officers mess that commodore Gbenga Oyetoyan has moved my wife to Odogbo after he was informed by the officers on duty that his actions were not right. Then I hurriedly went to Odogbo military base, on getting the military police post at Odogbo to lodge my complaint in respect of my abducted wife, the story took any new turn.

The desk officer told me that he (commodore Gbenga Oyetoyan) only came to lodge complaint about his absconded wife and some other issues that made her run away from home, and drop his details, and that he never told them that he took my wife hostage, which apparently make it clear that he had gone there to cover up his evil deed. My statement was taken and the officer told me he (commodore Gbenga Oyetoyan) is their superior officer equivalent and they will not be able to do anything to him.

But offered to help me out by calling the CSS and relate the issue with him, The CSS later came to the military police post and called him (commodore Gbenga Oyetoyan) to verify my claim only to find out that it was true. The CSS told him to come back to the post, but he claimed to have been far from the base but later agreed that he would drop my wife at Sango in Ibadan where I went to pick her around 6:30 pm in the evening more than six and half hours later.

On sighting my wife, she told me how she was unlawfully assaulted by the men that came to abducted her with the Commodore and threatened to kill her if she does not comply with any order given to her during the time of her abduction, I later took my wife to the hospital where she was admitted as a result of the assault and stress she went through thereafter but since then she hasn’t recovered from this emotional trauma which has been subjected to for more than six and half hours.

More also in his desperate attempt to stop us from taking action against him, he sent a message to me through my wife threatening that he would be back to shoot kill me if I try to pursue this matter further and to assure me he’s not joking on Monday 26th of February, 2018, I got an IMO internet call on my phone, and a deep voice speaking to me to be careful with my steps that what I saw on the previous day was just a tip on iceberg my phone later reveal the anonymous name to be Taiwo Oyetoyan.

In the light of the above, it is glaring that he’s desperately using his influence and position to intimidate and suppress us so that we will not be able to demand justice.

It is hard to understand his motive behind all this evil but more distressing is the fact the personnel who have been saddled with the task of protecting the citizen of the country will be the one terrorizing them. We also encourage him to come forward with this evidence of the call logs of how the kidnapping was carried out since claiming to have it.

I have written a letter and also tried to reach the Chief of Naval Staff over this matter but met wall of silence, it is more threatening to my family in the commodore continual boasting that he will kill me and my wife like common criminal and that the government will not do anything because he has been licensed to kill anyone which he retorted each time he is talking.

This petition will be on public notice about his impending action towards my family, that should anything happen to my family, both now and in future. He will be brought to justice.

Please help bring this officer to book by signing my petition calling on our President and Commander in Chief of The Armed Force, His Excellency Muhammad Buhari, The President of the Senate, His Excellency Dr Bukola Saraki, and The Honourable Speaker House of Representative, Hon. Yakubu Dogara to use their good office to carefully investigate the official intrigues against my person, my wife, the threat our lives and allow due process of law to prevail in the unfolding scenario and to preserve my fundamental human rights.

Thanks

RE: “Justice for Abduction of My wife threat to our Lives and Intimidation by Commodore Gbenga Oyetoyan Attached to Naval Base Sapele, Delta State Nigeria”: The Nigerian Military an Endangered Species

I write as a response to a petition which has gone viral on the internet with the title “Justice for Abduction of My wife threat to our Lives and Intimidation by Commodore Gbenga Oyetoyan Attached to Naval Base Sapele, Delta State Nigeria”, by Mr. Ajayi Adesanmi it was with rude shock that I saw the aforementioned petition on social media and as a bonafide member of the human rights community I signed the petition and encouraged others too to sign, I also went further to share the petition on my social media space. Some loopholes in the petition were brought to my notice by an uninterested party and I was encouraged to investigate the matter, I got the Phone number of Commander Oyetoyan through some my contacts in the military, I called him to ascertain his side of the story.

He told me in plain terms and categorically that he never laid a finger on Mrs Darasimi Adesanmi, he confirmed to me that he had issues with his wife that made her leave the house with his three children ages 10, 7 and 3. He got information from sources that his wife is very close to her hairdressers. This made him go to the shop of Mrs Adesanmi on the 28 of Feb. 2018, after reporting the case to Oluyole Police station on the 22 of Feb. 2018. As expected, when he got to her shop she was not willing to talk with him but after he explained his predicaments in full details the woman agreed to assist him in any little way she can but insisting that she does not know the where about of his family. On her volition, she took him to another hairdresser Mama Tolu. He informed me that Mrs Darasimi was jolly the whole time and even told him the stress she is facing in her marriage. When he was convinced that the woman knew nothing about his family he let her and Mama Tolu go at the destinations of their choice. He pleaded that I take my investigation further by calling Lt. Ogbole of the Provost department Odogbo Barracks. He sent the number of the IPO investigating the case and the DPO, I also got the number of Mama Tolu the second woman that was with Mrs Darasimi all the while during the purported period of Kidnap.

I called Lt. Ogbole, he immediately informed me that I am the second person that is calling as regards this matter, that he received a call from the Naval Headquarters during their investigation at their level. I think the Nigeria Navy should be commended for their investigation into the matter in good time. This negates the reports on social media that the Navy refused to investigate the matter. He went further to tell me that after Commander Oyetoyan had left with the women, Mr Adesanmi and some women came to report that a Naval officer just kidnapped a woman and he said he immediately told them “I told them the woman, I saw do not look like someone kidnapped or beaten” these were the words of Lt. Ogbole.

Again, I called the Investigating Police Officer Insp. Ilemona, in charge of the case he corroborated the story of the Lt. and Commander Oyetoyan, I put a direct question to him, “Did your office investigate a case of likely brutality or violence against Mrs Adesanmi his response was in the negative, He said what they investigated was “Conduct likely to cause breach of peace” and they found out from on spot assessment of the people around that no such thing happened, that the Naval officer was very civil with Mrs Darasimi. He also confirmed that at no point where they invited to take official notice of brutality done to Mrs Darasimi. Again, the position the police put a big hole in the petition of Mr Adesanmi.

I needed to get a balanced view so that it won’t look like the uniform men are covering a fellow uniform man in the spirit of Esprit de Corps. I called Mama Tolu the second woman a principal witness that was with them almost through the entire time of the purported kidnap. Her testimony sunk the petition of Mr. Adesanmi. She informed me that at no point at all was she or Mrs Adesanmi manhandled, she said all through their movement within Ibadan town Mrs Adesanmi was very chatty and said a lot of things about the problems she is facing in her own marriage. As against the petition on social media it was Mrs Darasimi that asked she should be dropped at Sango so that her husband can easily locate her since she does have a phone. As against the report on Social Media, Mrs Darasimi used Commander Oyetoyan phone to call her husband and relatives because she had no phone. Finally, I asked her as at the time Mrs Darasimi was dropped at Sango, was she looking like somebody who was beaten. Her response was strongly in the negative. She further told me that officer dropped her at Cocoa house and helped with arrangements to her final destination. She lamented bitterly about the embarrassment the petition has brought to everyone involved.

I called Mr Ajayi Adesanmi, the petitioner I confronted him all the positions I have gathered and the many holes in his petition, his defences were very watery and he made efforts to whip up sentiments about how the officer promised to kill him. He claimed that Commander Oyetoyan has refused to appear before an Oyo state Mediatory committee, I told him that no military officer will appear before such committee without due clearance from his headquarters. I suspect that there is grand design to humiliate this officer using the Mediatory committee because Mr Adesanmi talked a lot about his closeness to the Attorney General of Oyo state. Mr Adesanmi sent me the medical report from where I got the phone number of Dr Olowokere of God’s Knot Specialist Clinic and Maternity.

I called Dr Olowokere he confirmed to me that when the woman was brought to the hospital there was no evidence that she beaten but it was discovered that she has malaria, which she was treated for. That when they told him that she was bruised by a military personnel he told them that they should have taken pictures, meaning that at the time of treating her no pictorial evidence of this bruises. Again, to confirm the position of Mama Tolu and Lt. Ogbole, I asked him if he saw any evidence of physical bodily harm at the time he treated her again like Mama Tolu and Lt. Ogbole he said he saw non that could be traced to the matter at hand. But the woman had issues with her ankles but he cannot confirm if it was a result of the incident. I have a voice recording of my conversation with the doctor I am willing to send it to anybody with interest in this matter.

I bring the following to the notice of the human right community
1. The last three people (Lt. Ogbole, Mama Tolu and Dr Olowookere) that saw Mrs Darasimi Adesanmi did not see any bruises on her or evidence that she was brutalised
2. Mrs Darasimi was treated for Malaria and not injury suffered as a result of her encounter with Commander Oyetoyan
3. No report of the case of brutality to the police for documentation
4. Mama Tolu who was a principal witness was not mentioned in the petitions
5. In the online petition, he claimed Commander Oyetoyan pulled a gun this is missing in the petition to the Navy.
6. In the online petition, he claimed Commander Oyetoyan came in a tint glass car again this is missing in the petition to the navy.
7. The of the name of the IPO investigating the case of brutality at Oluyole police station was not given
I hope we can all connect the missing dots and know where the missing link in issue.
8. The pictorial evidence they are brandishing on social media is an afterthought, it was taken after the advice from the Dr Olowookere who didn't see any evidence of bodily harm at the time he gave that advice.

THE NIGERIAN MILITARY AN ENDANGERED SPECIES
The military in our country over the years have had every Nigerian to contend with. They are killed in combat by terrorists and common enemies of our country. They are also killed daily by Nigerians who view them with mutual suspicion at all times. The case of Navy Commander Gbenga Oyetoyan is not isolated; people in uniform are blackmailed daily by seekers of vainglory. The military must rise up to the challenge and set up modalities to protect its self from seekers of vainglory who wish to make mountains of molehills in the court of public opinion.

It is without any iota of doubt that I inform you that the greatest hazard of the military job is not to die in combat but to be prosecuted in the court of public opinion because in most cases military personnel can't respond to attacks on their person using the many traditional and new media outlets. Every soldier is trained to die in combat if need be but not trained to live with treachery by the same civilian population they are willing to die for. This is not to exonerate some few hot heads in the military that will not waste time to descend on the civilian population at the slightest opportunity. Measures should be taken to make public disciplinary actions taken against military officers who contravene the law and in a similar vein; the military should go the whole hog to seek redress in civil courts for its personnel that are wrongly maligned by attention seekers. This will save the military from destruction during peace times.
