Is God Merely A Spirit? Or Is He Both Spirit And Flesh? by superhumanist(m): 11:52am On Mar 30
I just want to clarify this notion of God being only a spirit after having this debate with a christian apologist

superhumanist:

So wait. God, has no physical side to himself?

So when his backside was seen by Moses what was it? Spiritual?

Clown that doesn't even know the God of his religion.

Butterflyleo:

Moses said he wanted to see Gods glory.

God instead said HE WILL CAUSE ALL HIS GOODNESS TO PASS BEFORE HIM BUT WILL ONLY ALLOW HIM TO SEE HIS BACK PARTS.

BACK PARTS OF WHAT? HIS GOODNESS

What is the goodness of God? His creation!

God showed moses all his might has created and this was how moses was able to write Genesis despite not being there.

Exodus 33: 18-23

His hind parts is the past. His face is the future. Moses was only permitted to see into the past. John the one who wrote the book of revelations was now the one who saw the face (future).

So, the question is simple

1. Does God have a physical side or is he totally spiritual?

2. Did Moses see God literally or see the future?

Where did I say Moses saw the future? You copy and paste and do not read to understand what you copy.

God is not flesh. God is a spirit.

John 4:24

God is a spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth

Gods purpose and nature (attributes) are made manifest via his creation but his being is a spirit.

Luke 24:39

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

^^^

The words of Jesus himself. Asking if God who is a spirit has a physical side is the height of being silly.

So, let me get you straight;

1. You are saying that God has no physical side

2. You are indirectly saying that you are not a trinitarian i.e Jesus is not God

3. Moses did not see God physically.

Please, state if you agree with the 3 points I listed, so I can put forth my own argument.

God has no physical sides but he has manifestations in nature.
2. You are indirectly saying that you are not a trinitarian i.e Jesus is not God

Ogbeni stop sounding silly. Jesus was God MANIFEST IN THE FLESH but was not a fleshly being. The name of God is not JESUS. Jesus was simply an embodiment of God IN THE FLESH. As Jesus he was still God but also man. However that was not HIS BEING.

3. Moses did not see God physically

Moses did not see God physically. The scripture said that God spoke to moses face to face and this means he had a very close relationship with him and not that he saw his face . John 1:8 declares that nobody has seen God except Jesus. And last time I checked, nobody means nobody.

Please, state if you agree with the 3 points I listed, so I can put forth my own argument.

You are an atheist and your worldview does not subscribe to spiritual explanations and spiritual things. Stop using your fleshly empirical atheist logic to argue spiritual things. Its totally illogical for an atheist to discuss spiritual things.

I predicted that butterflylion will get caught in his web of lies and lo and behold, it has come to pass.

Note how he has lied so much and now he has contradicted himself;

1. He claims that God is only spirit (not flesh and not physical) but yet he believes that Jesus (who lived and died as a man) is God.

2. He claims that Jesus is not a fleshy being but yet he agrees that Jesus was flesh and blood.

Christianity is a ridiculous religion full of nonsense that can only be believed by the naive or wilfully dishonest or someone influenced by herd mentality

Calling you a dummy is being too kind.

Jesus was God IN THE FLESH but was also man.

He was God manifest in a body but that was not his essence. You talk too fast and never think before doing so.

This is obviously too deep for an atheist to grasp so I am not surprised grin

The body was just a means to an end but because he possessed the body he was still God despite it not being his essence. The body was not his physical side because he had none.

Atheists and zero spiritual understanding are 5 and 6

This is one thing about them that even they fail to see. They claim God doee not exist yet this "imaginary" God somehow finds a way to still afflict them with headaches and sleepless nights. Talk about a mental disorder.

Superhumanist why do you not create a thread that will address humanity as your moniker suggest instead of looking forward to downgrade religion, they are good topic out there. for example, abortion, poverty, illiteracy and so many more.

Superhumanist is obsessed with the God he claims does not exist, and to think he wants christians to keep repeating the same arguments undecided

Funny enough I've answered both his questions on other threads. I remember answering his second question on this thread:

Superhumanist, do we have to keep repeating ourselves undecided

Let me weigh in here, Christ the son of God came to earth in flesh and blood to prove to the human race that the flesh is not as limiting as we think so far we have faith and also to show that love conquers all even in the face of persecution. Also, God is entirely a spirit because when He says "I am that I am" it means I can be whatever I so please to suit the needs of my children and also to ensure our protection and divine leading. I'd suggest to the atheist to look for the topic on this platform stating the final moments of popular atheists and also the world is nearing it's end for you to be so shallow minded or senselessly troll such a sensitive issue. God bless you in whatever you decide to do with your life. I pray it's for good tho

Depends on the God one is dealing with. Is it the O God of creation in the national anthem? The tribal Israelis God? Sango or orumila that some lawo was threatening not to serve if he did not materialize as a beautiful damsel?
