Much more than the bushes, kangaroos, koalas, Australia is becoming a destination for international students because of its high education standard and high standard of living. Currently, Australia is the third most popular destination for students worldwide after the US and the UK. Finance should not be a barrier to the pursuit of a world-class degree. The following scholarships are available for you to realise your dream for both postgraduate and undergraduate studies.



1. ADELAIDE SCHOLARSHIPS INTERNATIONAL(https://www.adelaide.edu.au/graduatecentre/scholarships/research-international/opportunities/adelaide-scholarship-international/)

The University of Adelaide offers Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research efforts.

ELIGIBILITY: [/b]This scholarship is open to students who have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honors degree. Generally, applicants who succeed in winning an ASI scholarship have completed a master’s degree including a significant research component and have several publications and relevant work and research experience.
AWARD: Recipients will be awarded course tuition fees for two years for a master’s degree by research and three years for a doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only); an annual living allowance ($26,288 AUD in 2016) for two years for a master’s degree by research and three years for a doctoral research degree.

2. MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS( https://studenteforms.app.unimelb.edu.au/apex/f?p=153:2:0:::2:P2_ID:283)

The International Undergraduate Scholarships were established by the University of Melbourne in recognition of the significant contribution made by international students to the diversity of the university’s student population.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of countries other than Australia and New Zealand and are not a permanent resident of Australia; Applicants must have received an unconditional offer for an undergraduate course and must have achieved excellent final year school results.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded one of the following benefits: a one off $10,000 fee remission from tuition fees in the first year of an undergraduate degree; or a 50% remission from tuition fees for the normal full-time duration of an undergraduate degree; or a 100% remission from tuition fees for the normal full-time duration of an undergraduate degree.

DEADLINE: This scholarship has a rolling deadline as it is offered more than once per year.

3. AUSTRALIA AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS(http://dfat.gov.au/people-to-people/australia-awards/Pages/australia-awards-fellowships.aspx)

Australia Awards Scholarships are long term development awards administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They aim to contribute to the long-term development needs of Australia’s partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students from Asia, Pacific, Africa and Middle East.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded tuition fees, travel allowance, contribution to living expenses, textbooks and study materials.

DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the country of the applicant.

4. ENDEAVOUR SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS(https://internationaleducation.gov.au/Endeavour%20program/Scholarships-and-Fellowships/Pages/default.aspx)

The Australia Awards–Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the Australian Government’s competitive, merit-based scholarships and fellowships providing opportunities for Australians to undertake study, research or professional development overseas and for overseas citizens to do the same in Australia.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students from America, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded tuition fees, travel allowance, living expenses, establishment allowance and health insurance.

DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the scholarship.

5. FLINDERS UNIVERSITY: AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT RESEARCH TRAINING PROGRAM (AGRTP) SCHOLARSHIP (INTERNATIONAL)

The Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Scholarships (International) are specifically intended to support international students to undertake a research higher degree at Flinders University.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded tuition fees charged by Flinders University for a research higher degree, as well as a living allowance paid at the rate of $26,682 AUD (2017 rate).

DEADLINE: August.

6. LA TROBE COLLEGE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS(http://www.latrobe.edu.au/international/fees-and-scholarships/scholarships)

The La Trobe College Excellence Scholarship (CES) is a scholarship available to international students to cover tuition fees for high-achieving international students accepted into their undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of a country other than Australia or New Zealand who are applying to start an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program in 2017.

AWARD: [/b]Recipients will be awarded between 15%, 20% and 25% deduction on annual tuition fees for the duration of their studies and are limited in number.

7. MACQUARIE VICE-CHANCELLOR’S INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP(https://www.mq.edu.au/study/international-students/staging/details/vcis)

The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship provides a partial tuition fee scholarship for outstanding students to study at Macquarie University North Ryde campus.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded up to $10,000 AUD and it will be applied towards their tuition fee.

DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the scholarship.
