Menses can stink so bad, there is nothing graceful about this. Sometimes you can smell it through their clothes and its a cross between spoilt fish and kpomo water.

Ladies is there anyway you can reduce the stench of this smell when you are on your period.

Let’s get a few things out of the way first.
Any woman regardless of the time of the month will be malodours if her personal hygiene is poor.
Secondly don’t genaralise not all women fit into that category.

What causes SOME women to have this issue?
1) Not changing sanitary wear as recommended- wearing 2-4 heavy duty pads only makes one sweat more and increase the growth and breakdown of organisms that cause the smell

2) Some women try to musk the smell with perfume - this just makes things worse
3) Very tight clothes do not help and not changing underwear

4) Pre-existing infections - vaginitis, Monilial infection( tends to affect diabetec women more or those on long term antibiotics use , thrush or an infection of the cervix

5) This is something I have come across often -a tampoon that has been forgotten inside. A previous one is not removed and this happens a lot more than most women are keen to admit

6) Sex - when sperm decays it smells and that coupled with menstrual flow and poor hygiene lethal combination

6) Using herbs and potions up there for whatever reason- infections will happen

7) Douching and trying to clean inside your vagina - all that causes is an imbalance in your ph and makes your vagina a breeding ground for bacteria especially during your period.

Being clean is not something that requires a certain level of sophistication its common sense in the absence of infections.
