Yes Yar'adua was great in death but does this warrant declaring a 7-day holiday? Something must be wrong somewhere. How do we justify some hypocrites shutting down a whole state for 7 days when even more productive states are complaining about the economy.

Or can we interprete it to be the leadership's total disregard for the effects of inane pronouncements on the people?

THE Katsina State government yesterday declared a seven-day public holiday in honour of the late President Umaru Yar’Adua.

The late Yar’Adua was governor of the state between 1999 and 2007 before he became president.

In a broadcast last night, Governor Ibrahim Shema said there was no honour too much for the late president.

The holiday began from yesterday.

FG declared 7 days of national mourning with only the 1st day being work free. Katsina State declared 7 days for mourning the late president totally workfree. They plan to cripple the state for Yaradua.
