THISDAY Newspapers has lost over N800 million to fraudsters in the employ of the company.
The fraud was perpetrated through the collaboration of Accounting, Audit and Circulation sales staff over the last one year.



The figures are jut not adding up. Was the mangement asleep? It's the same Thisday style, crying wofl for nothing.

what most people are forgetting about the thisday's caper is that the money missing, is from SALES!!!! not profit

and the total sum was not lost in a month, but over a year.

lets do the maths, 800/12 equals approx 67 million

add that to the probable profits from other parts of its units/fronts, the said shortfall could continue unnoticed.

in a business that does sales on a national scale, 60 million is chicken change.


looking at the story carefully, how could the upper management notice when the sales auditor is the one tapping the cash grin grin grin grin grin grin
