Petty Theft At Shoprite Checkout Points, My Experience by calddon(m): 3:22pm On Apr 03
So i purchased few items from ShopRite today, was told by the checkout staff that my bill was 2200, paid 2500 and she gave me 300 balance alongside my invoice. I took a second look into the invoice to find out my bill was actually 2127 instead of 2200 as stated by the attendant. I sharply went back to her and she started speaking in tongues all to her defence...that she forgot, made a mistake and all sort of blas undecided

Guys please when you go shopping at checkouts without the LED display showing your bill, please check your invoice properly.

I hate it when people try to make money through dishonest means...just imagine how many people she might be doing this to, 77ngn ×1000 customers ain't no small cash.

Guy, you Bleep up... So you can exhibit the "keep-the-change" while you shop in a mall.. That you had to take time to post this and discourage people willing to give..... Na wa for u.... The fact is most people know about the issue, but just ignore... It's everywhere even in Mcdonalds

You should have told her softly or joking rather than rushing back with a fiery and frowning face asking for your 73 Naira as if thats the end of the world.

Truly she's wrong by not admitting that she owes you a change and she doesn't have it

Guys like you will go through the list of the food items one by one and ask for correct change from Wifey

Lol.

Most times, I don't even check my invoice. Although OP is not wrong to have insisted on the right thing. To each his own.

It might have been a genuine mistake. I don't think posting the pics and the company is right at this point until you experience it for the second time.

You just fired the attendant for this

Rubbish!
He can dash the attendant money IF HE WILLS, but calling 2133 N2200 is theft! Simple and short.

He did the right thing. It's his money, whoever he chooses to give it to, or the manner is his business.

happening in McDonald's doesn't make it right.

Its so simple,to say the actual rate, than use cunningness to steal.

All shades of wrong

Dear poster, a lot of us know this but we choose to ignore or dash the change. Uber riders do this the most.

I don't want to call you stingy but there some amounts not worth the stress. I can buy fuel of #5000 and the meter reads #5009 so are you saying I should now be yabbed or stopped by the pump attendant because of #9?

In your own case the shoprite person would have just told you #2150 instead of #2200 but all the same how much be the change you wan collect sef.

People are always looking to steal.

One day I bought a few wares at ShopRite Lekki Toll gate...the guy collecting his goods ... deliberately or not, slowed until mine started dropping...

Heck I got home and some of the things I paid for (also on the invoice) were missing.

Odi egwu!

They even tried poster. I will continue to say this, Uber is the worse. A trip of #1114 they can tell you 1300. I always check the exact date from the app when the trip has ended but I sometimes give tips depending on the behaviour of the driver.

Apologies to flyca I took your comment wrongly. I am sorry sir
