I know that story. He praised PMB but I didn't see him advocating for votes.

In our hot political climates, that level of praise is as good as seeking for vote for him.

Ebonyi State, Akwa Ibom, Imo State and Cross Rivers are swinging APC during the Presidential elections. There will be two northerners on the ballot. One of them is going to hand over to a South Easterner, the other will not. Rivers State will swing widely.

Even the tribalism factor will work for Buhari. Even Bayelsa State will hand APC more than 25%.

APC will win Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti and Edo states during Presidential elections. The NW, NE is for Buhari. NC , Ortom is an APC guy.

We need to get matters right in the NC, they have Fulani herdsmen crisis but it does not translate into votes for PDP although you can be simplistic and be disappointed.

The PDP has never been in a position where they find the selves now with NO money for elections and few governors. I forsee the Buhari government releasing major damming information that swings the elections further for them in the few months before election day.

I read body language and what people say ; " the PDP will never be allowed to govern at the Center again.." . That is from two powerful figures in the rulling party. Please let us be realistic .

Many candidates put flavour to the election. But we only know only APC and PDP are the major contender for now. Maybe if the so called coalition is well coordinated, SDP will be a contender.

In 2015, who would have thought a ruling party could lose an election in Nigeria?

I am appalled by the lack of faith our youths have. If Tinubu had no faith, do you think he could have set up APC?

Most of us agree that we don't want another 4 years of Buhari. It is also clear to people on this thread that PDP has no chance in 2019 as it has already zoned it's presidency to the core north.

Why can't we as youths come together and fight for our future? If not now it is never oh. Nigerians are almost 200 million. As Poverty raises, Insecurity raises.

We have Sowore, Fasau, Durotoye, and Mughalu, yet instead of us to plan how we can mobilize across the country, we are saying there are only 2 parties. Yesterday, Sowore met SLS. Do you think the SLS voice is little up North?

The same number of government primary and secondary schools that existed in the eighties is the same number of schools today. Even to maintain the schools government can not do. Poorer people tend to procreate more leading to more poor people. Education has been shown to correlate with women giving birth to fewer children. If government were to provide quality education to the poor, Nigeria may have a more balanced population growth. Private schools with differing standards keep sprouting out to meet the deficiencies caused by government's inability to meet it's basic task of educating the masses.

The APC government came up with the Npower scheme which is a good initiative but pays our young graduates a meagre 30 thousand naira per month. In all 16 years of pdp's elitist rulership, government never saw fit to introduce any scheme. apc's scheme does not increase the number of schools nor does it provide permanent employment for the young graduates.

A modern leader would aggressively build more schools which would create jobs for builders. A modern leader will also employ nothing less than 1 million youths at at least 70 thousand naira a month to teach the up and coming generation. These are basic things our elitist government would never do. All they are interested in is importing coal tar (a by product from refining crude akin to chaff we dispose of when we are making tuwo) at an outrageously high cost to build roads. All PDP ever did was build over priced roads and APC seems to be learning quickly.

Must we forever stay with failures? Is managing a country rocket science? How come other African countries are leaving us behind? Even Ghana is growing at a rate of 7 percent this year. APC seems to be extremely proud of our 0.8 percent growth rate for last year.

Do u know the cost of 1million teachers with 70,000 Naira a month? That is almost 1 trillion Naira a year.

Nigeria budget base on actual revenue minus death services cannot even meet the current recurrent expenditure.

Some of this things are easier said than done. Nigeria is a poor country.

our tax to GDP ratio is one of the lowest on earth at a meagre 6 percent. Raising our tax to GDP ratio to 10 percent will provide an additional 9 billion USD annually. 9 billion USD is equivalent to 2.8 trillion naira.

Less than 10 of Nigerians control over 90 percent of the wealth of this nation. Sowore said he is going to redistribute the wealth of the country and the most effective way to achieve this is to raise taxes on the rich. Non of our old elitist politicians would ever implement an action this detrimental to their wealth.

Four countries with the highest income tax on earth are Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Austria. Not bad places to live right?

The kind of amateurishness and childishness on Nairaland is very very irritating. Look at all this "modern leader" rubbish. What is modern about education?. Awo did it well in the 60s, the Governor of Osun State is doing it.
Has Buhari not spent by double what Jonathan has spent on education?. Everything appears simple to the amateur. Nigeria lost two steps in human development index because of PDP.
Whether you choose to believe this is besides the point.

We should have collected more taxes under PDP to channel into Teacher Training, Schools, instructional materials instead we were buying executive jets and importing Brazilian hair. Every two bit dumb Youth wants to go into Nolly wood or music.
The fabric of civil society was sold on the altar of ease.
You young people are in for some hell and I am not even sorry

This your comment is very condescending. Sounds like what an elistist old person would say. You are young so you are a dreamer. You are young so you are inconsequential.

Have you ever heard of hofstede's cultural dimensions? I plead with you to take some time to compare Nigeria to other developed countries. Hopefully, if you are smart enough, you would realize that in the most prosperous western nations, the youth (the led) tend to always challenge their leaders. In fact, the less the power distance between the led and the leaders, the more successful the nation is.

I never said APC are complete failures. My issue and your issue should be the CABAL controlling our president. How can we have a president that people are calling "baba go slow" in this day and age?

We all know the country is in trouble that is why we want progressive change.

We want leadership that would provide the best healthcare for Nigerians and not travel to Britain for 3 months.

We want leadership that would prioritize youth unemployment and not provide band-aid schemes like npower that pay our fresh graduates a meagre N30 thousand.

We want leadership that understands our insecurity issues are tied to the poor quality of education in Nigeria's poorer regions so solving extreme poverty would also make the nation as a whole safer.

We want the commensurate quality of healthcare services our leaders are getting. They are not more human than us. They shouldn't use our shared wealth to preserve their lives while we die like chickens here.

We want leadership that listens and debates with Nigerians. A majority of Nigerians want some form of restructuring. apc's campaigned on restructuring but has failed miserably to even move us a bit forward in the last 3 years.

Finally, we want leadership that would challenge the past thieves in government and not join them in stealing the little we have left. We want leadership that sees all Nigerians from all tribes and religions as equal and not a tribalistic and clannish government.

Please, Buhari has tried. I have never stayed in osun but from all I have heard, I can conclude that Aregbesola has tried. Trying does not mean we would not challenge them. Trying does not mean they cannot be better. If you are a youth, you have clearly accepted to live a life of mediocrity. On this note you are own your own.

You are on point. Jonathan govt promoted the love of quick money and quick fame over hard work and growth of economic fundamentals.

The wealth achieved through high oil price especially in Jonathan era was wasted on consumption and luxury.

Even if ss and se should vote for PDD, it wont make much effect cos of the usual small percentage of votes that do come from there.

Having said that, i see Buhari winning with a slim margin.

Right now, he stands the better candidate.

@op, one big factor u have failed to mention or understand about politics is the CARTELS(aka AKA NAEME EZE) of a nation.
In 1999 they brought out a man from prison and made him president,
In 2007, yaraduwa was not in even interested in presidency but he was their choice and they made him president,
In 2015, u already know the history(never u believe Buhari won 2015 election out of voters sympathy and their votes) it is purely the hand work of the cartel.

In summary be u an incumbent president, u can't match them in any ramification, And believe me, more than 70% of these cartel are now against Buhari .

After June 23rd the coast will be more clear for you to comprehend

OP let me talk about my state Rivers and region SS the highest rigger carries the day in SS no free and fair election in this region. Federal might always play a major role in party that wins here. Wike ultilised federal might in 2015 and gave PDP over 1.5million votes and winning all 3 senate seats, 13 House of Rep members and 32 State assembly members. But during rerun when the federal might left him and went into Amaechi we all saw the result. Take it to the bank and thank me later Wike will loose 2019 to APC his close allies knows that is why Wike accuses everybody of working for APC from INEC to Police to Army. APC guber ticket is most sort after in Rivers state because it's sure victory for who ever that emerges. Then Oshiomole in Edo another problem for PDP. These men in APC will produce the result that will shock PDP in 2019,Amaechi in Rivers, Oshiomole in Edo, Timipre Silva in Bayelsa, Umana Umana and NDDC MD in Akwa Ibom. Though APC might not win in Bayelsa,Cross River and Delta but will pull up to 40% votes But Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Edo state APC ti take over a sure belt. Mind you I am not a member of APC or PDP but I know what determines election in Rivers and SS region.

You're a true son of Rivers and in extention SS, you know how it is done there. PDP never allowed a total free and fair elections, they should not expect one now.

We are in the same page on how election is being won and lost in Rivers state and SS region at large. You did a good analysis on 2019. I laugh at those that think APC will loose election in 2019 like they did in 2015. Buhari will win in North -West and North- East freely then win South-West and South-South slightly because of good results that will come out from Rivers, Edo, Akwa Ibom and couple with Cross River where Gov Ben Ayade has made it clear that his state will vote Buhari and get the required 25% or more in North-Central and South-East. Nasarawa and Niger in North-Central is even sure for him because of large population of Hausa-Fulani in these states.

Most people talk about North central like it's made up of Benue alone, even in Benue Buhari will get 40 to 45% of vote if not more. Forget what the media paint about Benue, the herdsmen issue is restricted to 2 LGs and the people talking about it most are the urban dwellers with access to the media, the villagers do not really have an opinion of their own they mostly get directives from politicians on who to vote (Benue has a large population of rural dwellers). Apc still has a strong hold on Benue, the reason Governor Ortom is realigning with the FG.

What if just a turn of event PDP presents a North/West candidate? It defeats all you have all there.

That won't change the fortunes of Buhari in that region, no one in the current political dispensation can challenge Buhari in that region.
