In it's effort to control the country’s burgeoning religious scene, the Chinese government has rolled out another law and this time, they have banned online retailers from selling the Bible. The new rule was announced last weekend and it takes effect this week.

As of today, Thursday, 5th April, internet searches for the Bible came up empty on leading online Chinese retailers. The move aligns with a longstanding effort to limit the influence of Christianity in China. Among China’s major religions — which include Buddhism, Taoism, Islam and folk beliefs — Christianity is the only one whose major holy text cannot be sold through normal commercial channels. .

The Bible is printed in China but legally available only at church bookstores. The ban follows new government religious regulations that have effectively tightened rules on Christianity and Islam, while promoting Buddhism, Taoism and folk religion as part of President Xi Jinping’s efforts to promote traditional values.

Great.
Jewish myths should be restricted to jews.
It makes no sense that an African or a Chinese will demonise their
indigenous traditions while eulogising jewish ones.

Some call it Jewish myths, but how come Christianity is booming all over the world undecided
Myth is different from truth. Truth will always prevail.

But really you can't blame the chinese government. Their citizens are converting to christianity in droves and it seems unstoppable despite shielding the community from external influence.

The government must therefore take extreme measures to maintain its culture and political laws. When you look at it closely, its not really different from the political stand of Islamic countries and atheist countries that exist and existed. See examples:

The first ever officially declared atheist nation in the world was Albania under the rule of communist dictator Enver Hoxha (1908-85).

Article 37 of the Albanian Constitution of 1976 stipulated: ‘The State recognizes no religion, and supports atheistic propaganda in order to implant a scientific materialistic outlook in people’ (Vickers 2001).

Article 2, A, constitution of Iraq stipulates: No law that contradicts the established provisions of Islam may be established.

Article 3, constitution of Afghanistan: In Afghanistan, no law can be contrary to the beliefs and provisions of the sacred religion of Islam.

Its easy to say Islam is intolerant, but this is the same as atheism.

Many of you must be thankful for Christianity....

Christianity is why many of us know about democracy, freedom of speech and religion. Christianity the reason why atheists are outspoken in places like U.S and U.k. Christianity is why you have a voice.

Christianity is even why Nigerians can blame Buhari's government. Imagine Nigeria was an Islamic country, your voices would have been taken forcefully.

So how did Lenin's government perform?
He overthrew the Russian King (known as the "tsar" and murdered his entire family
- He instituted a campaign of mass killings and torture called the "Red Terror," which killed around 50,000 to 500,000 people.
- He executed 14,000 to 20,000 priests.
- He seized food from peasants all over the country, which worsened the Russian Famine of 1921 that ended up killing 5 million people. He explained that this was a good thing, saying, "Famine would also destroy faith not only in the tsar, but in God too."

In point 6 of my thread, 32 reasons why I believe in God, I highlighted that only force can stop the spread of Christianity and I gave examples of several Muslims attesting to the fact that Jesus is appearing to Muslims in Islamic countries. Jesus is doing his own evangelism where evangelism is punishable by death. You can check out point 6 of the thread: https://www.nairaland.com/3228922/32-reasons-why-continue-believe

Our faith is spreading because it is the truth and history shows that when this truth is mocked and scorned, it actually spreads faster not by force but by love. Atheists boast of atheist countries, Muslims boast of muslim countries, No country has been officially declared a Christian state neither do we crave a christian country. We live in love, just like Christ commanded. If history has shown anything, it is that love spreads faster than force.

Even if no human praised or believed in God, God said:
I WILL RAISE STONES

The only problem I have with this is the flagrant disregard of human rights, trying to curb one religion while promoting others just shows that the government is trying to limit the masses choice.

Really don't know how to react to this development.

But if China is developed as much as it is without religious fanatism, then the model should be replicated in 3rd world countries!

Here, one person fit get 10versions of bible, bible app on his phone, yet poverty wan kill am grin I won't be surprised if Nigeria is the highest importer of bibles in the world.
