Nigerians voted for them to improve their living standard, not to expose 'looters'. Looters should be prosecuted in courts to serve as a deterrent to others. Moreover, it is bad to list people who have not been found guilty by the law courts as looters. It is mere blackmail. It is done in bad taste. The government should use their achievementst so far to campaign. Apparently, there is little or nothing to show, hence their resort to propaganda, mud slinging, character assassination and blackmail to demonise the opposition so as to remain relevant. What would happen to the image of those who are innocent in this whole looters' list saga? Will you be happy if your name is mentioned as a looter simply because you served in a previous government or administration? If so, may it be your portion.

What's the use of all these lists. After the shock what next sir?

This man will use his mouth to cause the downfall of APC. For the pass three years he has no other thing doing than defending APC and criticizing the opposition party. Is that really the function of his office?
Other minister of information before him have function in full capacity both in the county and in diaspora. He should continue, until he realize that people no longer give a bleep of what he is saying it will be too late then.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, yesterday said that another list of treasury looters would be released very soon by the Federal Government and that many unexpected names will be revealed.

The minister said no amount of intimidation from any side could stop the release of the list.

Mohammed said this in Ilorin during an interview with journalists on his way to Abuja after his condolence visits to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, the people of Offa, state police command and the victims of the armed robbery attacks in Offa last Thursday where seven police officers and many civilians were killed while several others were injured.

He said, “We are not going to ask anybody not to go to court, but what we are telling them is that they should re-examine themselves because when the government came out with its list, it was confident of the evidence it has.

No government worth its salt would be challenged and would not come out to prove that what it’s saying is correct. When it comes to evidence it’s for the courts to decide, but we want to make it clear that no amount of intimidation from any side would prevent government from releasing the next batch of looters lists and what you have seen so far is a tip of the iceberg when the list comes out. You will see that many people that Nigerians did not suspect partook in the national looting.’’

You are wrong sir. This can be likened to your mother's enemy calling your mother a thief in the market place. As your mum protests her innocent, the blackmailer and her supporters then tell your mother to go to court to prove that she is not a thief after her name has been spoilt. Is it not the accuser that should charge the accused to court if she is sure and has evidence? The point in this whole media trial and 'looters' list' saga is that the motive is simply to malign the opposition so as to win the next elections. It is a selfish move. It is not for the good of the country. So there is nothing praise worthy about it at all. However, if it is OK by you, then may it also happen to you.
