Heartland were yesterday drawn against JS Kabile of Algeria, Al Ahly and Ismaili; both of Egypt in the group stage of the on going money spining CAF champions league. Heartland were runners up last season and have not hidden its ambition to go a step further this season but will face tough opposition especially from 6 time champions Al Ahly. Hostilities begin in mid July. |

this will be a tough one for Heartland no doubt but they have been there before so they know what to do. This same Al Ahly were eliminated by Kano Pillars last year so they arent unbeatable. It will be good if they can get draws away cos Heartland hardly lose in Owerri. They will go through if they get their acts together. |

Al Ahly is not the issue here, see, the issue i have here is seeing these northern clubs coming together to see that at least 2 of their brothers progress to the detriment of Heartland. Ismaili is more dangerous to me. |

The other group, group A, has Esperance(Tunisia), Dynamos(Zimbabwe), Entente Setif(Algeria) and defending champions, TP Mazembe(DR Congo). Heartland will play Al Ahly in Owerri on July 16. |
