What Ndigbo like myself hate is the duplicitous nature of some of you from that region! The South West Governors asking to be concessioned the Murtala Airport amounts to putting the cart before the horse don't you think? You want to eat your cake and still have it! The right thing to do would be to first restructure the polity let everyone control their resources and answer their papa name, and then you can do whatever you like with anything in your own region!

I hope it is a competitive bid. I do not see Odua Group or any Nigerian entity as having the competence and so likely if they win they will "reconcession" to foreign "technical partners"

This is part of the Human capital problem we have in Nigeria.

I do not see any of the businesses in Odua group as world class and have no reason to expect anything different if they are running the airport. If they are interested in airports they shhould build their own in Lekki or Ogun State

If they want to buy the airport and then concession that is OK too but to be the concessionaire? Where is the expertise, the track record?

That airport is gateway to Yorubaland first, before Nigeria. Airport is a security target, must not be allowed into private hands. Particularly if Fed Gov is vacating, it must not be allowed to fall into hands of non-Yorubas. Their strategy to take it over is commendable.

How secure is it?


I think we need to separate sentiment from reality.

Already there are private and foreign security operatives at the airport now.
Most of the Cargo handlers are private. If the airpor was to enter the hands of Odua Investment. Will Odua provide security?


The reality is across the world many airports are privately owned. That does not stop the releant security agencies being embedded within the airport.

Let us not hide behind security.
