10 Reasons Why President Buhari May Lose In 2019 Elections by afonjaman: 6:58am On Apr 18, 2018
In Nigeria, its the third year of a constitutional four-year term which only means the next election is just around the bend.
Calculations have begun, permutations are emerging on Who the next president would be.

Politicians already forming allies both with the masses and other political bigwigs.

Thanks to APC, Nigerians have had to endure the harsh realities of voting based on religion, tribe or even utter desperation.

President Buhari rode in on the goodwill of the people!

The masses and the elite alike wanted him, they saw him as the last ray of hope to clean the mess of the old generation….

Little did they know they were totally wrong, at least to date!

The abysmal government led by the retired military general has moved from blaming the past government incessantly to denying political

promises , and then blaming ‘Monkey’ and ‘Snake’ for sudden disappearances of money.

When we thought we had seen it all, they released the names of alleged looters who have neither being charged to court nor facing criminal prosecution.

Not only have they failed to point a single clear-cut economic policy, they have made bogus claims about economic achievement while labelling anyone that dares to challenge them an opposition.

As it stands, the economy is on a stand still.

What better time to declare intention to run for second term?!

President Buhari declared his shocking interest in a second stint in Aso rock much to the surprise of Nigerians home and abroad. He then proceeded to the Uk for a “medical check up” leaving us all to ‘decimate’ each other online on who the right choice should be in 2019 polls.

I will state here categorically that i championed President Buhari’s first term bid and i supported him.But looking at the deplorable state of the economy, disunity in APC among others, the President might have to steal the mandate to stay in power.

Here are reason why Buhari may Never return:

#1 Failure To Rescue all Chibok Girls
This is definitely a negative strike against a government that verbally pelted its predecessor for failure to admit chibok girls were kidnapped

APC-led government promised to deliver the girls but 3 years down the line, they have only managed to rescue a handfull of them thanks to

millions of dollars paid in ransome to Boko Haram Terrorist which has further enriched and strengthened the group.

Most recently they asked for a billion dollar loan to help fight a technically defeated group.

#2 Eternal Dislike For PMB In South-East and South-South
They say politics is a game of numbers, nothing could be closer to the truth. The President could boast of the large number of voters from the

North but he is also constitutionally required to win at least 25% of votes in at least two-third of all states.

His battered reputation on the other side of the Niger would always hunt him at the polls seeing the way the 2015 polls went and 2019 polls

could be

#3 Marginalization of South-west
President Buhari enjoyed the goodwill of the Southwest in 2015 election as they all massively voted for him except Ekiti state.

As far as politicians are concerned political appointments are the rewards of a political partnership many of which were denied the southwest.

Most of the service chiefs, IG of police, SSG to federation, leadership of the legislature went to the North against all previous permutations

#4 Disunity within APC
It is crystal clear that the ruling party is divided against itself. The acting chairman of the party, Oyegun has been denied another tenure,

to which many have expressed displeasure.

Long before the recent internal democratic fracas, the acclaimed leader of the party, Bola Tinubu whom many hailed to have been

responsible for most of the success at the polls has had his influence significantly diminished.

The former governor of Lagos was seen as a threat by many and sought to cut him to size….and they succeeded.

It is however laughable to see the President calling the ‘wounded’ Lion to spear head the reconciliation of the party.

It is almost impossible to see him throwing his weight behind the President like he did in 2015

#5 Criminal onslaught of Fulani Herdmen In North Central
The Northcentral who voted massively for President Buhari in 2015 has been the most affected by the rampaging ‘Fulani herdmen’.

Benue state and plateau state are both APC state which should have enjoyed the backing of the federal government both in might and sight

but they have both been neglected to be slaughted by “foreigners” according to the Governor of Kaduna state- Nasil El-Rufai

The government declared IPOB a terrorist organisation within a blink of an eye but admonishes Nigerians to live peaceful with herdsmen or

or else risk their wrath…..

Its pretty hard seeing the President winning those states

#6 Emergence of a Northern Candidate

With the current power play in Nigeria, the Presidency is still expected to come from the North, though unconstitutional.

The former vice President, Atiku Abubakar and current Senate President , Bukola Saraki are political heavyweights who might vy for

the highest office in 2019.

This would definitely reduce Buhari’s odds as the political spoils would be shared.

Eventhough Atiku is not a favoured candidate by most Nigerians, Senator Saraki is a huge Threat who is looking to team up with Deputy

Senate President, Ekweremadu who is very popular in the South East and South south

#7 Lack of Tolerance for criticism
For a govt that rose to power on the back of a horse called Criticism, it is rather shocking why and how they would display such of a high

level of intolerance for criticism.

President Goodluck Jonathan was called all sort of name in the name of politics, then it was the right thing to do.

Now the President is infallible and must not be questioned.

IF you do, you are in the opposition.

#8 Threat Posed By COALITION FOR NIGERIA

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo may be ‘former’ but he still wields a lot of power in Nigeria’s sociopolitical terrain. President Goodluck

underrated him and he learnt it the hard way.

Having written series of open letters apart from private meets with President Buhari, Dr Obasanjo threw in the towel on PMB’s government.

He came up with the Coalition for Nigeria which he claims is not a political party but a platform to advocate for good governance.

Call it what you will, this organization is clearly not in support of PMB’s second term bid.

The group currently has over 3 million members

#9 Suspicious Kidnap of Dapchi girls
As in the recent Chibok school girls kidnapping, so too in the Dapchi kidnapping the Nigerian government took days to respond at all

Ibrahim Geidam, the governor of Yobe state, has complained about the withdrawal of army troops from Dapchi allegedly just hours before

the abduction, without informing either the local police or the state government in advance.

On 21st March, the Presidency announced that Boko Haram terrorists had returned 106 of the kidnapped children,

including 104 girls who went to school, one girl who did not and a boy….barely 30days after abduction(February 19, 2018)

Many have described this as an opportunity to justify the $1 billion loan request………….

#10 Sick President who ignored the Health Sector
President Buhari has been nursing an undisclosed ailment since the beginning of his tenure. He has made several trips to the United kingdom

including one that lasted more than a 100 days.

Recently he made another suspicious medical trip with no set day for his return.

Is it not surprising, someone who has had a fair share of health woes has not made a single move to improve the health sector?!

Most recently, the son of the president was involved in an accident but could not be treated in any government hospital, not even with the 1

billion allocated to Aso rock clinic annually.

If he pays little attention to the healthcare , that would directly benefit him, why are we surprised the economy is at a stand still?!

President Buhari was the choice of the people in 2015, however it hard to make a case for a second term following the recklessly abysmal second stint in power.

But what do i know?

Who is fooling who?
Who exactly are the fools?

This are questions hanging from the lips of this poet while describing the youths of this present day world...

African politicians seem to have gotten the key to their hearts thereby opening and closing it at will; They seem to be the dictator of their actions, all thanks to stipends/peanuts dished at sequences.

Our youths need to wake up to this asylum we subjecting ourselves to. This act kills the venom of promising youths thereby giving more room to those pot-bellied politicians to terrorize the masses.

This is a call to action to all African youths. Poet Jay from Kenya voices out...

- More efficient and more responsible Civil Service

- All Federal roads being reconstructed across the Country

- Fast rails being constructed between the state capitals

- Gas pipeline being laid from South to Abuja, Kaduna and Kano

- Private Financing for our three Refineries being negotiated

- Private Refineries to collocate with the existing Refineries being concluded

- Influx of foreign companies increasing

- Increased investments by domestic investors

- The Electricity Generating capacity at 7000 MW

- Transmission Capacity at 7000 MW

- Distribution capacity being restructured to inject more capital and expertise

- The economy of Nigeria being Restructured from oil based to Agric, Solid Mineral and Manufacture based

- Boko Haram now a distant ding in the orchestra of general quietude

These are not propositions; all these and more will be on the Curriculum Vitae of PMB in the 2019 Presidential Elections. And he did not achieve these by fluke, he was deliberate; the economy he inherited was dire. The country was running on one cylinder and the engine had just coughed its last, the engine was dead and the ”plane” was adrift.

I know all these achievements won’t make meaning to wailers because there are not putting money directly into your pockets. I know that is the only achievements Nigerians recognise. The amount of money individuals grab into their pockets.

Order is more vital than speed.
