Before dawn on Saturday, a coalition of U.S., U.K. and French forces launched more than 100 missiles targeting three chemical facilities in Syria in retaliation for an apparent chemical attack that killed dozens of civilians on April 7. New satellite images show a glimpse of the damage done by the strike.

A photograph released Sunday by DigitalGlobe, an American company that specializes in space imaging, appears to show what remains of the Barzah Research and Development Center in Damascus after being struck. According to a Pentagon official, targets were selected that participated in the research, development and deployment of chemical weapons.

A total of 76 missiles were launched on the Barzah site, according to Lt. Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr., the Department of Defense Joint Staff Director. “This is going to set the Syrian chemical weapons program back for years,” McKenzie said in a press briefing.

Syria condemned the attack as a “flagrant violation of the international law,” according to Syria’s official SANA news agency.

Syria has been locked in a civil war since 2011 that has killed at least 350,000 people, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

U.S. forces fired 66 Tomahawk cruise missiles on three Syrian targets early morning local time, making for a price tag of $92.4 million for those missiles alone.
The U.S. fired 19 of a different kind of missile on Syria, for a cost of $26.6 million.
The final bill isn't clear, however.
If US spent this amount just to destroy one complex that does not cost up to $2 million to build, Assad already won the war.
Please note that this does not include the missiles launched by Britain and France, the cost of maintenance and fueling of the aircrafts and ships used to launch it and the amount received by the pilots and sailors.

The mission also involved aerial refueling tankers, surveillance aircraft and U.S. fighter jets that were tasked with escorting the bombers to their targets. And while the cost and types of the additional aircraft involved are unknown, the total number of Tomahawks and JASSM-ERs cost $119 million.

France and Britain launched 12 and 8 SCALP/storm shadow missiles respectively valued at a price of 1,052,172.50 US Dollar each, that is around $ 20 million in total.
Altogether, the three countries wasted $139 million on just missiles for a complex that probably worth less than $1 million.

So this is what you used 105 missiles for?
