We are good enough as a country to own at least four main battle ships/frigates. Haba!!
my brother I tire. At this age no cruiser, frigate, submarine or carrier. How can we get there when we use quota system over merit and full important positions with northern herdsmen who know nothing about international military strategy.

This a good thing unless people are ok with having i insecurity on sea. There's issues with pirates, illegal fishers and oil thieves. Nigeria does need to build up it's naval capacity.

Federal government is wasting tax payer money on building the armed forces at the expense of a growing population who lack jobs, food, basic health care, infrastructure like good road.

From Ecomog peace keeping mission in Liberia from the height of the civil war in Liberia in the 1990 s under the Babangida administration down to Book Haram insurgents and now Fulani jihadist. Our so called military consumed our money earned from crude oil sale in the Niger delta region with nothing to show for the money expended.

This huge amount of public funds is laundered into the private treasury of our so called government contractors and mules working for the federal government. IDP camp running cost is normally drawn from our security budget all at the expenses of development of Niger delta region whose crude oil is being drained at the daily threat of environmental and ecological hazard to their community.

It is obviously not farfetched why President Buhari is seeking for 1 Billion USD to equip our military against so called external and internal threat as it will provide key policy maker with an opportunity to soil their hands with public funds.

But many Nigerian are of the opinion that some huge part of the money will definitely be diverted to 2019 electioneering campaign.

We are not ready to fight a war that requires such weapons. There is absolutely no need for all these weapons. Nigeria is surrounded by countries with low military strength, so there is no cause for alarm

Not impress. So if we want to do battle with the americans or the russians, we'll buy our military assets from the chinese or the brits ?
Our military can as well serve as our defence contractor for now.

You get time. You are under no obligation to school the 'intellectually lazy' especially those who display their ignorance like a badge of honour. They open their mouth to just talk as if they have an idea about things they are actually ignorant about, only for them to display crass ignorance. Good job for educating him sha.
