Finally they have listened to customers complaints about providing good network. The time line for this project is quite long - 18months but I understand that laying optic fibre in sea is no child's play. Who else notice of recent, Glo network has improved especially here in Lagos should raise his or her hands� 1 Like |

Why submarine? why not run fibre optics on land gradually and have nodes along the way? Unless its a cost thing but nodes along the way make wayy more sense |

sacluxisback: 12 terabytes is a lot, but this Glo 2 map says the connection is from Lagos to somewhere off the coast of Calabar. This is like MTN laying fiber from Lagos to Kogi and calling a press conference about it. It would be more impressive if the announcement was that they increased the capacity of Glo1(Lagos to London) to 12 terabytes for it's current ~1 terabyte(info on this is sketchy) This doesn't really change anything for the average Glo user. Their terrestrial fiber network already covers most of these areas. This is for Oil Companies mostly. 1 Like |

sometimes i wonder who advises companies on investment...they are now going to spend billions on an infrastructure that is readily available..main one already has this..companies can share net with main one and cut cost... in Sweden we have top 4 biggest networks(telia,telenor,tele2,comviq all use same net...companies go joint junction in stuffs like this..but no in Nigeria everyone should open the road and install fiber optics one after another...the same for electricity ..same grid and channel but different provider....our country stuck 40 years behind |
