I rather say Saraki saved himself from the impeachment fallout that is to come after the process would have failed.

We all know impeaching the president in Nigeria is nearly impossible.

There was no need for Saraki to create more enemies for himself when the process was bound to fail.

Remember how AD lawmakers from the South West (despite that they didn’t like Obasanjo) vehemently supported Obasanjo when his fellow PDP members wanted to impeach him under Ghali Na Abba as Speaker? They called Obasanjo “our son”.

A Nigerian President cannot be impeached. Not only is the process too cumbersome, our ethnic and religious set up will frustrate it.

Nonsense; how did Saraki saved him; how is the process that simple that they can do it in one process.

Even sef, let them try it and watch how many of them will dare not return and face their constituencies; majority of Nigerians still trust and believe in the president - forget the internet hate speeches against him, those making them represent only a small noisy minority (the 5%ters who don't count).
