Did you ever read this article or you just rushed off to be in first comment place. In Summary, CBN is trying to limit that huge amount of money fraudsters lift from your bank account when they have your phone like the case of one guy who reported here the last time about 400k plus been fraudulently deducted from his account and how he got it back.

CBN here is trying to limit that huge loss of money and also mandating the use of PIN for transactions more than 20k. This is to ameliorate fraudulent practices perpetuated using the USSD bank codes.

Read, Read, Read! Not everything is worth the instant gratification, okay you had the first place now but couldn't understand the message passed. Does it make it sense?

True you read the article, but the CBN is also insisting on a second level authentication after the PIN has been verified correctly. I am thinking this could be in the form of another password.

Whether two factor or Four Factor authentication it doesn't stop fraud
It helps a lot! The only way to beat the 2 factor authentication Is for them to trick you into telling them or to be in possession of your phone

I don’t see this as a good idea ...they only look at this at a side what about those that do their business on their phone ...nor everyone like to go to the bank ...some client like last to see their money before anything ..I think they should review that policy
Re: CBN Sets Daily Limit Of N100,000 On Mobile USSD Transactions by Bishopsgate(m): 9:28am On Apr 27, 2018
I am really concerned with this new policy.

I believe it's a few steps backwards, considering the extant financial inclusion and cashless policies of the same CBN.

As an experienced banker, I believe this doesn't address the issue of weaknesses in the system and u enlightenment that allow fraudsters take money from innocent bank customers. CBN as usual, has taken the easy way out instead of improving the security technology and processes in the payment and transfer platforms.

Instead of limitations to the amounts that can be concluded which will reduce efficiency of business transactions and move transactions back to handling cash or having to go into a banking hall for transactions that can be concluded over a glass of fruit juice and an exchange of account details.

As a side business man, I enjoy doing business online and making and receiving payments electronically. I don't think we should go back to the era of going with a police escort because you wanna buy a car or house.
