Clarification on Oyo State 3-day mourning period for Rt Hon Adeyemo


The sudden death of the Honourable Speaker of the  Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Michael Adesina Adeyemo  has left the whole state in a sober mood and since the sad incident, the State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi led the State Executive Council and Assembly members on a condolence visit to the deceased's country home, Lanlate.

Governor Ajimobi had earlier declared a three- day mourning period, effective Monday, April 30th to Wednesday, May 2, 2018 and flags should be flown at half mast across the state.

It is important to inform the general public that the three-day mourning period does not imply a work free day or public holiday in the state. The people of Oyo State are enjoined to go about their normal businesses while the state continues to mourn a bridge builder and a patriot.    

Meanwhile, all public engagements by government officials have been suspended.
