No don't blame obama the apc as opposition party then. These people have always been the problem of Nigeria. They were going up and down, frustrating Jonathan, badmouthing his government to obama and Who ever cared to listen. The northern government went and told Obama that Jonathan was killing Muslims in the north. Boko haram was and is a work of northern politicians especially those from apc supported by ever greedy tinubu, and some gullible southerners like wole soyinka and dele momodu. These individuals made sure that everything Jonathan did or said had bad interpretation to their audience. Sowore on his side was frustrating Jonathan cabinet members. Now, he sees no reason to call the current minister of finance and set her up. He sees no reason to know happened to the money recovered by efcc. He sees no reason to question fashola, amechi etc. Stella odua was made to look like hitler because the ministry bought N250 million bmw vehicle for her office. But sahara couldn't tell you that that money was akara money for faashola and his co-thieves that were running Lagos like a mafia group. Wole soyinka made it his job to alwAys attack the person of Mrs Jonathan to check her English grammar. As God would have it, he gave Jonathan peace and gave Nigerians what they wanted. Buhari and tinubu government. Now they are blaming obama. 1 Like |

[quote author=realborn post=67144209] Summary: 1. Garba Sheu granted an interview at Washington DC. 2. Buhari's visit is symbolic. 3. Buhari is the first African President to meet Trump. No matter how Nigerian's see their own country (I assume no matter the disapproval of poor leadership), meeting Trump first before others in Africa is the bomb 4. Trump has opened doors of support unlike Obama (blame every body that can be blamed on planet earth and beyond) 5. Discussions shall |

I Dont think that assertion of garba shehu is right..remember Nigeria voted against Jerusalem as capital of isreal in UN, so Buhari should expect serious bashing from Trump.. |

There so many times Obama took Nigeria for granted. Imagine he NEVER visited the most populous Black Nation on earth but visited other African countries. I pray Trump visits Nigeria; Obama was misinformed about Nigeria. This alone, makes me dislike him. 1 Like |

Its quite simple. Trump is known to bash Obama and try to one up his policies and actions - remember the inauguration crowd debacle? By naming Obama, Buhari’s team is trying to win over Trump - maybe get him to forgive them over the Jerusalem vote even - and get something good out of the meeting. It’s politics the way Trump likes it. Whether its true or not, Buhari is still trying to punish Dasuki for stealing the arms fund so there is every incentive for the US to have stayed away from such a corrupt government - maybe Buhari has forgotten that plot and his campaign claims. At the end of the day, the hope is that both parties are voted out soon enough. |

realborn:there's no country that develops or solves its internal problems when d president of another country "holds d ace". That's slavery mentality. D development of any country can only come from within not from outside it and Not by travelling round and visiting "almighty" trump&America |

NOC1:that's slavery mentality and then u ask y we are still a third world country. So when u beg, can u get what u want or u will what they feel u need? If u beg, what makes u think d outcome will b in ur favour?begging shows desperation & cluelessness. Guess what, d person u begging will take advantage and u will walk away with a bad deal with ur country paying 4d consequences 4 many generations. Nigeria ought not 2 beg, but ask. When its asks, its either they tell u yes or no. If they say no, find someone else. |

lexy2014: You should please read my post again. Leaders meet to reach mutually beneficial way forward resolves that will benefit their respective entities. All I am saying is that strategic meetings should have an apt agenda, not the type being touted by Sheu. Trump and the ace reference is on the auspice of a certain cross section of the public's perception of Trump. Let's assume Trump is readily available to hold astute discussions with Buhari, the question shall be, is Buhari ready? |
