AGN INITIATE INSURANCE PRODUCTS FOR ACTORS
The insurance penetration in Nigeria received a boost last weekend as the Universal Insurance Plc’s Group Accident Insurance policy was unveiled by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) weekend.
The Group Accident Policy is designed to provide medical expenses while in the hospital as a result of accidents resulting in permanent disability or death of a member of the AGN. The group has about 150, 000 members spread across the country in its register, the largest professional interest group in Africa.

SAUDI ARAMCO APPOINTS FIRST WOMAN TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Saudi national oil giant Aramco said Sunday that five new members had been appointed to its board of directors, including the first woman in the firm’s history.
Lynn Laverty Elsenhans, 60, is the former head of US oil company Sunoco Inc. and has been director of oil services company Baker Hughes since July last year.

SHAREHOLDERS APPLAUD ACCESS BANK’S INVOLVEMENT IN ETISALAT
Shareholders of Access Bank Plc have commended the lender and other consortium of banks for their involvement in the $1.72 billion Etisalat loan facility, which saved the company from total collapse.

Speaking at the 29th yearly general meeting in Lagos, last week, the shareholders noted that the bank’s decision to restore a business that was on the verge of collapse is a good step in the right direction.

MANY LONDON HOMES SOLD FOR LESS THAN ASKING PRICE
It was a buyer’s market in Britain in March as a record number of homes were sold for less than the asking price, new research from estate agents shows.
Some 86 per cent of properties, almost nine in 10, sold for less than the asking price, according to the data from the National Association of Estate Agents, the highest level seen since records began in 2013.

GIVE STATE TAX AGENCIES AUTONOMY, FOWLER TELLS GOVERNORS
The Chairman, Joint Tax Board and Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr. Tunde Fowler, has called on state governors to empower state internal revenue services by making them autonomous.
Fowler made the call at the 137th meeting of the JTB in Ilorin, according to a statement signed and made available on Sunday by the Director of Communications and Servicom, FIRS, Wahab Gbadamosi.
