Eusebio Di Francesco refused to dwell on two unsuccessful penalty appeals as the Roma head coach pointed the finger at his players and their lack of belief after losing to Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals.

Roma huffed and puffed but fell short despite their 4-2 second-leg victory on Wednesday, with Liverpool advancing to the Kiev showpiece against Real Madrid with a 7-6 aggregate win.

The Italian side faced an uphill task in the capital, where Roma entered the match trailing 5-2 following last week’s absorbing opening leg at Anfield.
