Fellow nairalanders, while you are waiting for that your dream job to come, i want to open your eyes to see an untapped money making venture known as, 'HOME LESSON SERVICE'.

Do you know that there are rich men and women around you desperately in need of educated people like you to teach their children at home? Some of these people are ready to pay you 50k monthly just to be a private tutor to their kids and you work only in the evenings when the kids are back from school. Most times these lessons are conducted only 3-4 days in a week depending on your arrangement. This gives you the leverage to have two or more clients.
HOW TO START

Like every legit business, becoming a successful private tutor requires adequate planning and strategies.

1. FIND OUT WHAT YOU CAN TEACH

Most of private tutoring involves teaching school subjects such as Mathematics, English, Sciences etc.
However, private tutoring has gone beyond teaching school subjects. These days alot of people are in need of tutors to teach them skills that are not taught in school. Hence, if you are good in computer appreciation, blog Creation, programming, bead making etc, you are part of my audience.

2. PUT YOUR WORK TOGETHER

Make notes of all you know and can teach and keep researching for more information. Find out the problem solving ability in the knowledge you have and how to best communicate it to your potential clients. Remember most people have the knowledge but lack the ability to impart it to others. Even if you belong to this class, you can make it up by organizing yourself well.

3. FIND YOUR CLIENTS
This is the most difficult and discouraging part. Alot of people end their journey here. Ironically, the same way you are looking for someone to teach your knowledge/skill is the same way your client is looking for you. One of the most successful way to search for your client is through freelancing (teaching for free). If you are good in the academic subjects, organize free evening lessons for children in you neighborhood and see how fast your paying clients will show. Likewise, if you are a skillful person, organize free workshop for people to come and learn your skills.
