fedora04: I think one of the reasons has to do with the variety of maize being used. Our Maize is not of the same variety compared to the one being used in UK, and our FG will not allow them to import maize from UK at the detriment of our local agriculture business. I think we should be patient. If I am running this business, the strategy will be to first secure a foothold and lock down the market. The can later work with institution like IITA to improve the maize seedlings and get out better product 1 Like 1 Share |

mavinc4u:ashjay001: :It has nothing to do with the taste buds. It has been confirmed by many. Those people you met loading their cart, were doing so because the price is cheaper and they have also not tasted the Nigeria version of the product. They need to check what they are not doing right. Madam mavinc4u , You need to consider many variables. You have been used to the foreign version because of your exposure to it (you bought it overseas, you buy it here etc). I hazard a guess that people in your category are less than 10% of shoppers. There are significant differences in taste and qualities of Kellogg's Cereals from different countries. My wife buys cereal from US, I sometimes buy from South Africa and we buy from Nigeria. While my wife complains about quality and taste, my son is particular about brand, my daughter is indifferent. Me? I don't even do cereal often as I am not the breakfast type. Consider people on the lower cadre of the middle income earners or low income earners who gets an opportunity to afford "Kellogg's", Do you think they are concerned about the difference in taste and quality or where it is coming from? I want us to imagine the detail and diligence that the sales people had invested in feasibility studies before getting the organisations to commit to these investment and compare it with patterns of sales we see today. They see from a multi-dimensional perspective what you see from a single standpoint. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Kenni700: Yes. I strongly believe so. Obviously you have a different opinion. We view and perceive things differently. So no need going into a fruitless argument. |
