2019: ATIKU REACTS TO INEC’S CALL FOR DEBATES
Former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s call for debates among candidates running for political offices in 2019.
INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, stated this while delivering a speech titled, ‘The role of the media in the Nigerian electoral process,’ at the 69th General Assembly of the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria in Lagos on Wednesday.

DINO MELAYE MARKED FOR DEATH, DOKUBO ALLEGES
Asari Dokubo, an ex-militant leader has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari has marked Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye for death.
Dokubo in a video he posted on his Facebook account claimed that Buhari arranged with the police to push the lawmaker out of a moving van.

2019: INEC VISITS PARTY OFFICES TO ASCERTAIN REAL POLITICAL PARTIES
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said the era had passed when the commission was hoodwinked about parties’ presence, offices and general organisation.
This is as the commission toured party offices in Anambra state to ascertain the real political parties that had a presence in the state.

2FACE URGE NIGERIAN YOUTHS TO GET THEIR PVCS
Popular Nigerian pop singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, has called on Nigerian youths to register for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) ahead of 2019 general elections.
The music star made the call at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Campus Outreach program on Youth Votes Count at the University of Abuja, on Thursday.

2019: BUHARI’S INTEGRITY ALONE CAN’T MOVE NIGERIA FORWARD – SENATOR SHEHU SANI
The Senator representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s integrity alone cannot move Nigeria forward.
Sani, who is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, speaking at a Symposium organised by the Magodo Associates, held at the Are Babalola Auditorium, University of Lagos, said there was a need for the emergence of a new political party, peopled mainly by the intellectuals.
