The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be playing a friendly match againstAtletico Madrid on the 22nd of May, 2018, at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo,  the state capital of Akwa Ibom.

According to a report on Facebook by Tom Fredfish, he wrote;

"Governor Udom Emmanuel is showcasing Akwa Ibom to the world, particularly, in the area of sports and football.

"It's just been confirmed by Genort Rohr, Super Eagles Technical Adviser that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Atletico Madrid in a friendly game on May 22 at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo.

"This will be the first time a top-notch European club will be playing Super Eagles in Nigeria, at least in recent history.

"By implication, Akwa Ibom is gradually evolving to be Nigeria's football destination!"
