Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has labelled Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino as the “most complete striker” in the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane have written the headlines this season with their goalscoring exploits, but Henry believes Firmino’s overall ability to influence a game eclipses both forwards.

Salah and Kane have both netted 30+ goals this season for Liverpool and Tottenham respectively, while the former also grabbed the Golden Boot in the process, but Firmino has received wide adulation for his workrate and movement off the ball.

Another player who has excelled in the final third this campaign is Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who recently became the fastest Gunners player to reach double figures for the club but the Frenchman remains adamant that Firmino has the edge.

“His movement, his work-rate, the way he makes the two central defenders move to allow Mo Salah to make those runs,” Henry told Sky Sports (via the Mirror).

“Firmino is the most complete striker in the league.

“I’m not talking about the best finisher or the best work-rate, I’m talking about all round. The most complete in the league.”

Firmino has been instrumental to Jurgen Klopp’s style of play this season, helping the Reds finish fourth in the Premier League, while also playing a key role in the Anfield club’s journey to the Champions League final.

Yesterday the 26-year-old was named in Brazil’s 23-man squad for the World Cup this summer.

Salah’s incredible goalscoring record may certainly have propelled him to world-class status, but the same can also be said of Firmino, as he boasts 27 goals in all competitions, as well as 16 assists.

Beyond his direct contribution to goals, Firmino’s off-the-ball output is still huge, winning 65 tackles in the Premier League alone.

Thiery Henry maybe one of the greatest players of all time but i have to disagree with him on this. I believe that Sergio Aguero is the most complete striker in the Premier League. Firmino may have a good work-ethic but you can always count on Aguero to score for you when you need it the most.
