Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill some vacant posts in the Edo State Civil Service. Candidates for the various posts must possess the minimum required qualifications specified below.

The Edo State government earlier today, announced the recruitment into its civil service. This recruitment is expected for people who reside in Edo state and other states in Nigeria.

The posts and the requirements are as follows:

1. ENGINEERS (CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, STRUCTURAL) GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural Engineering or equivalent qualifications registrable with the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN)

2. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER II, G.L 08

A Degree in Environmental Health Science from a recognised University.

3. (a) SCIENTIFIC OFFICER (WATER) GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Physics, Geophysics or Chemistry from a recognised University.

(b) SCIENTIFIC OFFICER (MINING) GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree from a recognised University in any of the following disciplines:-

I. Geology

II. Geology with Mineralogy, Chemistry, Physics or Biology as subsidiary

III. Mining Geology with Statistics or Mathematics as subsidiary

IV. Analytical Chemistry

V. Metallurgy

VI. Ore Dressing

VII. Geophysics

(c) SCIENTIFIC OFFICER (HEALTH) GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in Medical and appropriate Natural Sciences.

4. GEOLOGIST, GRADE LEVEL 09

I. A Degree in Geology, Mining or Exploratory Geology or Geology with Elementary Topographical Surveying as a subsidiary subject from a recognised University

or

II. A Degree and Post-Graduate Diploma in Geochemistry or Geology with specialisation in Geochemistry from a recognised University

5. STATISTICIAN GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08
I. A Degree in Statistics as a special subject from a recognised University.

or

II. A Degree from a recognised University in Social Science or Mathematics without Statistics plus a Post-Graduate Diploma in Statistics

or

III. A pass in the Final Examination of the Institute of Statisticians

6. STATISTICAL OFFICER, GRADE LEVEL 07

I. Stage I Certificate of the Institute of Statisticians, London

or

II. General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in two subjects passed at one sitting or three subjects at two sittings preferably including Mathematics

or

III. Ordinary National Diploma in Statistics obtained from an accredited Institution plus at least two years post-qualification cognate experience for any of the above

or

IV. Diploma Certificate in Statistics of the University of Ibadan,

or

V. Stage 11 Certificate of the Institute of Statisticians, London

or

VI. Higher National Diploma in Statistics from an accredited Institution.

7. DATA PROCESSING OFFICER, GRADE LEVEL 07

I. Ordinary National Diploma in Computer Studies or Data Processing from a recognised Institution plus at least two years post-qualification cognate experience

or

II. Higher National Diploma in Data Processing or Computer Science from a recognised Institution

8. INFORMATION OFFICER, GRADE 11 GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree preferably in Arts, Journalism, Social Sciences or English Language from a recognized University.

9. SENIOR STATE COUNSEL GRADE LEVEL 10

A candidate who is legally qualified to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria plus at least one year post-call cognate experience.

10. QUANTITY SURVEYOR GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

I. A Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised University.

or

II. A Pass in the Final Examination of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors

or

III. A Pass in the Final Examination of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors

11. TOWN PLANNING OFFICER GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

I. A Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Town Planning from a recognised Institution

or

II. A Pass in the Final Examination of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners

or

III. A Professional Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning or Town Planning from any recognised Institution (not equivalent to Higher National Diploma Certificate). Above or equivalent qualifications must be registrable with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC):

12. ARCHITECTS, GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Architecture obtained from a University recognised by the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria.

or

II. A Pass in the Final I Examination of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (N.I.A.).

or

III. A Pass in the Final I Examination of the Royal Institute of British Architects (R.I.B.A.) Above or equivalent qualifications must be registrable with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON)

13. EDUCATION OFFICER GRADE 11, GRADE LEVEL 08

I. A Degree in Education or in any other relevant subject from a recognised University.

or

II. A Degree in a relevant subject plus a Post-Graduate Diploma or Certificate in Education

14. (a) HIGHER TECHNICAL OFFICER (ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL, AND CIVIL), GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Higher National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering from a recognised Institution

or

II. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds Institute of London in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering or related subjects

or

III. Ordinary National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering or related subject from a recognised Institution plus at least four years post qualification cognate experience for II and III above.

(b) HIGHER TECHNICAL OFFICER (HIGHWAYS), GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Higher National Diploma in Highways Engineering or any other relevant subject from a recognised Institution

or

II. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds Institute of London in any relevant subject

or

III. Ordinary National Diploma in Highways Engineering or any other relevant subject from a recognised Institution plus at least four years post qualification cognate experience for qualifications II and III.

(c) HIGHER TECHNICAL OFFICER (TOWN PLANNING), GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Higher National Diploma in Town Planning from a recognised Institution

or

II. Ordinary National Diploma in Town Planning from a recognised Institution

or

III. A Pass in the Preliminary Examination of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners plus at least four years post qualification cognate experience for II and III above.

or

IV. A Pass in the Intermediate Examination of the Town Planning Institution plus at least three years post qualification cognate experience.

(d) HIGHER TECHNICAL OFFICER (ARCHITECTURE), GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Architecture from a recognised Institution

or

II. Full Technological Certificate (Technician) of the City and Guilds of London Institute in relevant field

or

III. Intermediate Royal Institute of British Architects or

IV. Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Architectural Technology from a recognised Institution

V. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds of London Institute in relevant subject plus at least four years post qualification cognate experience for qualifications III to V.

(e) HIGHER TECHNICAL OFFICER (BUILDING), GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Higher National Diploma in Building from a recognised Institution

II. Ordinary National Diploma in Building from a recognised Institution plus at least four years post qualification cognate experience.

(f) HIGHER TECHNICAL OFFICER (SURVEY), GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Higher National Diploma in Surveying from a recognised Institution

or

II. Ordinary National Diploma in Survey or other related subjects from a recognised Institution

or

III. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds Institute of London in Survey or related subject

or

IV. Part I of the Advanced Course at the School of Survey, Oyo plus at least four years post qualification cognate experience for II to IV above

or

V. Part II of the Advanced Course of the School of Survey, Oyo plus at least three years post qualification cognate experience.

15. (a) TECHNICAL OFFICER (ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL AND CIVIL), GRADE LEVEL 07

I. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds Institute of London in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering or related subject

or

II. Ordinary National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering or related subject from a recognised Institution plus one year post qualification cognate experience for either qualifications.

(b) TECHNICAL OFFICER (TOWN PLANNING), GRADE LEVEL 07

A Pass in the Intermediate Examination of the Town Planning Institution.

(c) TECHNICAL OFFICER (ARCHITECHTURE), GRADE LEVEL 07

I. Intermediate Royal Institute of British Architects

or

II. Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Architectural Technology from a recognised Institution or

III. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds of London Institute in relevant subject plus at least one year post qualification cognate experience for any of the qualifications above.

(d) TECHNICAL OFFICER (BUILDING), GRADE LEVEL 07

Ordinary National Diploma in Building from a recognised Institution plus at least one year post qualification cognate experience.

(e) TECHNICAL OFFICER (SURVEY), GRADE LEVEL 07

I. Ordinary National Diploma in Survey or other related subjects from a recognised Institution

or

II. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds Institute of London Survey or related subject

or

III. Part I of the Advanced Course at the School of Survey, Oyo plus one year post qualification cognate experience for any of the qualifications above

or

IV. Part II of the Advanced Course at the School of Survey, Oyo.

(f). TECHNICAL OFFICER (HIGHWAYS), GRADE LEVEL 07

I. Full Technological Certificate (Craft) of the City and Guilds Institute of London in a relevant subject

or

II. Ordinary National Diploma in Highways Engineering or any other relevant subject from a recognised Institution plus at least one year post qualification cognate experience for either qualifications.

16. PRODUCE OFFICER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Agricultural or Biological Science from a recognised University.

17. HIGHER PRODUCE SUPERINTENDENT, GRADE LEVEL 08

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agriculture from a recognised Institution.

18. FISHERIES OFFICER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Zoology, Fisheries, Biology, Agricultural Bio-Chemistry or Agriculture from a recognised University.

19. HIGHER FISHERIES SUPERINTENDENT, GRADE LEVEL 08

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Fisheries, Zoology, Biology, Bio-Chemistry or Agriculture from a recognised Institution.

20. AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH OFFICER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in any of the Agricultural or Natural Sciences from a recognised University.

21. AGRICULTURAL OFFICER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Horticulture, Crop Science or Crop Production from a recognised University.

22. HIGHER AGRICULTURAL SUPERINTENDENT, GRADE LEVEL 08

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agriculture from a recognised Institution.

23. VETERINARY OFFICER, G.L 12 (CONMESS EQUIVALENT)

A candidate possessing a basic degree in Veterinary Medicine, who has been registered by the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) and successfully completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme or obtained Exemption Certificate of NYSC.

24. VETERINARY LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A candidate possessing the Technologists Associate Membership of the Institute of Medical Laboratory (A.I.M.L.T) or any other equivalent qualification registrable with the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technologist of Nigeria.

25. AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognised University.

26. FOREST OFFICER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Forestry, Forest Resources Management, Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Zoology, Botany/Biology, Forest Engineering, Forest Utilization, Timber Technology or Wood Science from a recognised University.

27. HIGHER FOREST SUPERINTENDENT, GRADE LEVEL 08

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Forestry/Wildlife Management, Biology, Ecology, Zoology or Botany from a recognised School of Forestry or Institution.

28. PROCUREMENT OFFICER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Accounting, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Banking and Finance, Economics or any other relevant degree.

29. ACCOUNTANT GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Accountancy from a recognised University.

30. AUDITOR GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Accountancy from a recognised University.

31. SURVEYOR GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

A Degree in Land Surveying, Survey Engineering, Geodetic Science or Geodetic Engineering from a recognised University or any equivalent qualifications registrable with the Surveyors Registration Council of Nigeria (SURCON).

32. LANDS OFFICER GRADE II, GRADE LEVEL 08

I. A Degree in Estate Management or Land Economy from a recognised University

or

II. A Pass in the Final Examination of the Auctioneers’ and Estate Agents’ Institute

or

III. A Pass in the Final Examination of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers.

33. HIGHER ESTATE OFFICER, GRADE LEVEL 08

I. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management obtained from a recognised Institution.

or

II. A Pass in the First Examination of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors

or

III. A Pass in the First Examination of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers

or

IV. Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Estate Management from a recognised Institution plus at least four years post qualification cognate experience for II to IV above.

I. A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education from a recognised University

II. A Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology or Health Science
