A group, the Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, has urged the Igbo to support the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.

It said the Southeast would fare better with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in power.

The group said while the Igbo made a political “mistake” in the past, it must avoid a repeat in 2019.

Yoruba Ronu, in a statement by its Secretary General Akin Malaolu, said President Buhari deserves the support of the Igbo because of his integrity.

It said the President has ensured that development spreads across Nigeria, including Igboland.

“The Igbo must hold the present leadership in high esteem because of his probity and requisite caliber.

“The government today and with its present leadership has modernised the rudiments of administration and has departed completely from the attitude of ‘we’ as against ‘others’.

“Developments are today springing up everywhere in the Igboland and that must not be discouraged. The nation needs the Igbo people just as the Igbo also need Nigeria completely,” it said.

The group urged the Igbo not to repeat what it called the mistake of the past when it voted massively for Dr Goodluck Jonathan.

“The Igbos made some bad moves during the Jonathan era of ugly opportunism that gave rise to division both from religion and tribe. All of these must be forgotten and we must make Igbos partners in all affairs of Government at the centre.

“Igbo people must do well to accommodate our differences in diversity. They must play politics with obvious intention to contribute to the growth of first the Igboland and secondly Nigeria.

“The prosperity enjoyed by the Igbos in their participation in previous administrations shows clearly to be individualistic in nature and not generally for Igboland as compared to today.

“2019 is around the corner and we feel it necessary to plead to the Igbos that the APC has enough space and heart to give the Igbo people equality and respect which they rightfully deserve.

“It is only in APC that the Igbo prosperity can be enriched with comfortable speed. Igbos should come on board the APC train and take their rightful positions in the affairs of our nation.”

But they would say that wouldn't they! grin grin grin

They're not the ones being ignored while infrastructure is first sited in other regions. They're not the ones being ignored while other zones/regions/ethnicities get first dibs at all the juicy positions and appointments. They're not the ones having their youth mown down in cold blood by a bloodthirsty and ruthless dictator, while others that should lend their voices to protest the brutality are instead enjoying every minute of it.

By saying that we made a mistake last time, they are inadvertently alluding to the fact that Buhari is dealing with us because we didn't vote for him in 2015, and if we don't want to continue being treated like that we had better vote for Buhari next time around.

Suddenly, people that think they're gaining are beginning to realise just how despised this evil regime is, hence the reaching out to the mocked 5%. The stone the builders once rejected has now become the cornerstone of the house!

The way the terrorist in Aso rock and his APC demonic party members are licking the @ss of "5%" is is beyond my comprehension.

Did igbos tell you that they are regretting rejecting you in 2015 or you just want to massage your ego unnecessarily?. Igbos are even happy because they have been vindicated. They warned us in 2015 not to vote for terrorist, but some us refused to listen . Some of us (Christian yorubas )voted because Buhari had Osinbajo by his side, with the intention that Osibanjo would checkmate the excesses of Buhari 's dictatorial tendency against Nigerian Christians, but we got nothing but a huge disappointment from Osibanjo who is just a political lapdog.
In fact, the kind of rejection the Aso rock terrorist will have in 2019 in igbo land can't be compared with that of 2015, even the five percent he won't get this time around because he has been tested by all, and we have all seen that Buhari's struggle to become the president of Nigeria for the past 12 yrs is to kill and destroy. Starting from killing of Ipob members, Christians in north Central and shia Muslims.

BUHARI IS SUCH A BRAINLESS HEARTLESS BLOODY TERRORIST.
No normal human being will think of voting him except his fellow terrorist like Fulani herdsmen he has been empowering.

Some people are so politically daft to think because a region are mocked as 5%, then the ruling party would just fold its arms and weakly concede it to the opposition unchallenged...even when it can use federal might to make electoral inroads in the region and widen its victory margin cheesy.

Interestingly, such senseless emotion-driven political logic can only be found among the same 5 percenters which explains their position at the bottom of the political food chain undecided

Quoting this factual post is as useless as the P in psychology because it will be ignored totally.

like I will always say, I put Igbo issues ahead of that of Nigeria.
I will vote buhari for two reasons and two reasons alone.
1. with buhari back in power in 2019 it will accelerate the break up of Nigeria quickly. or
2. give way for the much need Igbo presidency the pill that will cure the ills of this sick country.

I would prefer point one the most. As all components can develop at a faster pace especially the south east and our brothers in Benue.
