Affirmation is democracy. It's like being unopposed. In USA, Presidents coming for a 2nd term are usually affirmed in their party primaries. It does not stop a serious person from wasting his time n resources trying to challenge. It's just a recognition out of respect for someone.
in USA you don't have a faction conducting elections. that's democracy. you can't talk about affirmation when u have dissenting voices.
