The nationwide prayer and peaceful protest organized by the Catholic church is currently taking place in many parts of the country. The Catholic Mission in Nigeria last week announced that the church would be holding a nationwide prayer and peaceful protest against incessant killings across the country.

The mission said the protest is in line with the directive from the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria. The protest is also in solidarity to those killed in Benue State, including two Catholic priests who were brutally murdered during mass in April.

These photos show some Catholic parishioners in Lagos, Abuja, Osun, Port Harcourt.

Nigerians should learn to defend themselves.

We have a group of people that will kill you all if you do not defend yourselves. But if you do and some of their own people also die while trying to kill you, they will naturally stop the practice.

Appealing to them and their President to have a change of heart is meaningless unless you fight back.

Protest should be a prelude to learning how to defend ourselves.

The people we are dealing with will not stop, until they know you will defend yourselves.

That is why they are using their IGP to try and disarm people completely so that they will have a field day killing innocent people without any type of opposition. People should learn and hide whatever you require for self defence buried somewhere outside your house. In case they come to search your house before the herdsmen strike. But be sure you can get to it in a moment's notice.
