The above mentioned bank has been on a termination spree since the end of March 2018. They call unsuspecting staff for a meeting in Lagos with their respective Executive Director and when they arrive are given a letter of termination. The exercise is still ongoing as far as I know.

To make matters worse, the bank has not paid these ex staff any benefits due to them to date but instead are placing debits for HMO payments and other entitlements they previously had as staff.
The end result is that if/when they are paid (if ever), they get nothing at all. Increasing the misery of the people who once worked for them.

Watch this space for updates and a sample of the termination letters from one of those affected.

It's a shame Access bank plc has descended to this level.

Its about that time of the year! This is not new in the Banking sector but the unfortunately thing is that banks in Nigeria are above the law despite the fact that their directors and other oga @the top are the most corrupt citizens of this nation follow by the polithivians. Gone are the days when banking is a carrier, the selfish directors there have corrupt that sector with the use of their unchecked absolute power. They make it impossible for any carrier banker of this generation to get to the pinnacle before they dash the persons hope and ruin the remaining part of their lives. Well, lets hope there would be shift in power some day.

Which economy ma? Bet9ja,Data network telcos, farmers etc smiling to the bank with unprecedented profit margins. This is a time Nigerians should prove they are productive, not just to eke a living and vex when some mischief makers twist the president's statement and call them lazy. They can petition NHIS as regards the alleged role of the HMOs though.
The era of free money for the banks is over.In Nigeria, banks are even bigger than the manufacturers until now. The Nigerian manufacturing sector according to the world is expanding and hiring more while suddenly the banks are firing. The abnormality when companies will be folding up and banks will be declaring humongous profits is being gradually corrected. The TSA, new financial regulation that makes it compulsory to state upfront all your liabilities in bad loans in your account is killing them and magu is on their matter monitoring them for collusion with corrupt politicians

Because your business is thriving does not mean that the economy of the nation as a whole is healthy. Note that if the government does not provide the basic infrastructures it may be difficult for a potential entrepreneurs to pick up or some maybe discouraged along the line when loosing all the funds put into a business. Our government really need to wake up to reality that people are suffering, poverty is on the increase on a daily basis.

There's no country in the world where all business are at the same level of efficiency and profitability and I am being serious.
If your business is not doing well,INNOVATE,ask for help, study more,be more prudent with resources including time and money and keep selling.
All the indices are green right now and things can only get better

I am wondering what you mean by healthy or you have other macroeconomic parameters for determining the health of an economy.
Please don't let this thread descend into unfruitful debate, kindly recommend how the OP can be helped. I have shared my own.

So, the staff in question has still not been paid 1 year later.
To recap, the staff was terminated and asked to acknowledge and collect letter to that effect upon which he would be paid 3 months salary in lieu of notice.
The letter was collected and acknowledged but the matter is now in court and access bank has rolled out a SAN to defend their position.
Will update.
