I have watched that goal and cant see anyone offside. the crosser took the ball to the line, turned back before releasing the ball which Nwosu came from deep to nod. |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by Sagamite(m): 9:17pm On Jun 18, 2010 |
~Sauron~: What else am I suppose to use? One game? Tell me what you used to conclude that Obasi is better than Nsofor? Conjecture? ~Sauron~: For both, he got his tactics wrong and lost both games. ~Sauron~: Is Greece world champions? WPOTY? EXcuses!!! So WPOTY was not there when Paraguay, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia and Equador thrashed Argentina? Excuses!!! You oyinbo dey fear instead of playing football. I bet it was Lagerback that collected Messi's jersey. ~Sauron~: 2 competitive games, 2 clear losses due to tactical ineptitude. Bolivia thrashed them with WPOTY 6-1. So did 4 other countries smack them with WPOTY. When England went 10 men down to Argentina, did they lose in open play when Beckham was sent off in 47min? Bolivia thrashed them with WPOTY 6-1. ~Sauron~: You are a joker? ONE chance? That is all you can say? And you don't think his missing the OPEN net is worst than a keepers brilliant save of Yak's attempt? Who you fooling? The guy was hopeless on the pitch. He missed a seater!!! ~Sauron~: So JJ was not a Grade A player? And Finidi? And Gervinho? And Elano? And David Villa? javascript:void(0); ~Sauron~: I meant Juventus and likes were playing in Euro cup you said you have no regards for except it is on the resume of Lagerback , then it is important. ~Sauron~: But it is the same team you said must win ANC otherwise Amodu must be sacked. Now you see oyinbo they use them dey fail, you quickly all of a sudden realise they are not that good? ~Sauron~: Amodu is suppose to develop players as national team coach? From 4 days of camping? ~Sauron~: Why not? He has been watching since Feb? Amodu assessed and said they are not good enough. If they are Oyinbo no suppose show them? ~Sauron~: 2 WC qualifications and 2 Bronzes. What has Lagerback achieved? Don't come back and say he won 57 games in 131 o. ~Sauron~: Obasi is a striker. There are midfielders that can play as wingers. Those are midfielders. There are strikers/support strikers that can play as wingers. Those are strikers. It is a joke if you say Henry and Messi are midfielders. ~Sauron~: I am more ept than the bench to know you do not put in a striker to defend a one goal lead. As I told tkb, I am a sage in analysis. I would introduce a defensive option as my first sub to stabilise any attack and see how long we can hold on to that lead and frustrate/burn out Greece. It we can do it for 90mins then I will take my 1-0 win. If not then I would introduce a striker to equalise. England did not lose to Argentina with 10 men. Our coach cost us the game, even his captain said we should not have lost if we defended well. I guess when you introduce strikers to defend, you will defend badly. |

dayokanu: Don't be asking this kinda questions ONLINE. Sepp Blatter is on this page.
Christopher Nwosu. . . . .A mazy run before delivering a very powerful shot from his left foot. It was Messi-esque.
Mutiu Adepoju(Headmaster)
This one is tricky o. . . . .I would say Angus Ikeji.
Chris Ohenhen. . . . . . A goal against Saudi(the opening game) and 2 goals against Russia in the Q/finals. The guy is better than Beckham, Juninho and Ronaldo put together. |

The same Algeria that Egypt beat is the same England with world class players and coach could not beat. The same Ghana that Amodu pegged for 80mins is the same that beat Serbia. Keep on deceiving yourselves that Amodu should be dominating Africa and a crime he lost to Egypt, but Lagerback can not beat the likes of Albania and is losing to Northern Ireland. |

Don't be asking this kinda questions ONLINE.We already served our punishment, they cant ban us twice. Answer the question Christopher Nwosu. . . . .A mazy run before delivering a very powerful shot from his left foot. I used to compare that goal to Maradonas of Mexico 86. This one is tricky o. . . . .I would say Angus Ikeji. Angus Ikeji started for us but was injured during the tourney and Emeka Amadi came in to perform heroics vs USSR in shootout Chris Ohenhen. . . . . . Correct . What was the last game Ohenhen played for Eagles? |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by Sauron1: 9:56pm On Jun 18, 2010 |
Can't remember who cheated but i won't be surprised if it's Phillip Osundo. We got away with MURDER playing that dude in Canada 87. It's like saying Geremi is 15. Chris Ohenhen disappeared after Saudi 89. That was the last i heard of him. Besides, i only saw old VHS Tapes. I was still growing milk teeth when that competition was ON. |

Chris Ohenhen didn't disappear or rather, he re-appeared under Troussier. Actually scored a goal at the National stadium in one of the world cup qualifiers |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by dayokanu(m): 10:05pm On Jun 18, 2010 |
The players who cheated were Dahiru Sadi, Andrew Uwe and Samson Siasia. Chris Ohenhen I remembered had a stint in Compostella and was invited for our last qualifier In Lagos for France 98 vs Kenya and was used as a sub He laid the final pass to Oruma for the 3rd goal |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by Sauron1: 10:09pm On Jun 18, 2010 |
dayokanu: I saw that game na. . . . . . . Wilson Oruma scoring the 3rd goal and taking his shirt off like a tout. I never knew Ohenhen took part but then on NTA Network. . . . . .Ohenhen woulda looked like Shehu Shagari. I have never ever enjoyed a football game on NTA - the picture hurts me eyes. |

Not just the pictures, d commentary was worse, The bad part was when they didn't use to show live matches and there was no internet to monitor results. We used to know if Nigeria had won or lost by Akinloye Oyebanji's expression. If the guy looked like he had been crying, you'l know straightaway we had lost |

Dr Kitaun: slowpoke, I told you that you have always been one. I clearly stated Northern Ireland. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=452348.msg6240049#msg6240049 You even quoted it and bolded it but thought it was the same as Rep of Ireland. You now want to claim you did not know. Tell me when Northern Ireland have ever been to WC if you were not referring to Rep of Ireland. Omugor! |

Dr Kitaun: LWKMD slowpoke, so you are still trying to lie and brave face like some agbero that knew the difference? So you just forgot to "add Northern"? So you mean this is what you meant to say: I tot "Northern" Ireland has been going to the WCs for a long time now, no ? Dodoyo ! Tongue see the sugomu dey compare teams Amodu won like Kenya to Ireland Shocked So if that is what you meant to say, so you know your geography (everyone please stand up and clap for him ), now explain to us which years "Northern" Ireland have been at the WC out of your "has been going to the WCs for a long time now". Shebi your forgot the "northern" ni and you were not referring to Rep of Ireland? Explain, Omugor! |

News update: - Australia fell to 10 men in the 24th minute and still did not lose or concede. So much for the excuses made for Lagerback. - Le Guen that we are giving benefit of doubt is being criticised by his own players for team selections and playing people out of positions. I bet as he is Oyinbo, some would be happy if he is hired for Nigeria. - World class coach, Fabio Capello, that so many have referred to time and again, could not take world class players to beat Algeria. But the same people condemn Amodu for taking mediocres to draw with Mozambique like if it should be a w/o because we are "Giant of Africa" |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by proudly9ja(m): 8:36pm On Jun 19, 2010 |
Nawa for sagamite. Now I see you are totally confused. How can you compare World Cup football to world cup qualifiers? Or did you not see LeGuen of Cameroun and Capello of England qualifying comfortably in their respective world cup qualifiers groups? Infact if anything this should teach you that world cup is very different from qualifiers. If Amodu that almost gave Nigerians heart attack (you inclusive based on your confession) in World cup qualifiers had taken us to the world cup, I wonder what would have happened. As for Australia and Ghana, did Australia lose two players to injuries? Did the coach not have opportunity to bring in two additional players after his first substitution? Also based on your previous conclusions, did you see the Australian coach making an immediate substitution after the red card like you advised Lagerback to do? It was obvious the Ghanians lost based on inexperience. The same reason we lost in 1994 to Italy. They were playing 1 - 1which to me was a good result and all they needed to do was keep the ball around and let the Australians run around and get tired and try and hit them at the tail end of the game. But the Ghanian team is young and their youthful exuberance made them keep hitting the ball forward and hence they kept losing the ball to their opponents. |

How come you are so desperate to find fault with white man? Them collect your wife from you? Even when we named some black people, you looked for links to white man. Are you sure you are not hiding something? You can talk to us o.Im sure Nairaland has a counselling section where you can get help. |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by Sagamite(m): 9:15pm On Jun 19, 2010 |
proudly9ja: LWKMD So you mean when Tunisia came to Abuja, they did not come and play WC football? Egypt was playing paa'na paa'na football, not WC football at ANC? So Algeria played college football when Egypt beat them in WCQs? Lame excuse after lame excuse. ENGLAND SHOULD BE ABLE TO WIN ALGERIA. STOP PARADING LAME EXCUSES!!! If Algeria bring their WC play, then should England not bring their WC play, SHOULD ENGLAND'S WC PLAY NOT BE SUPERIOR? Lame excuses!!! proudly9ja: LWKMD So the loss is not due to "it was 10 players anymore?" It is now due to waste of sub? Any excuse for Oyinbo. Lagerback LOST because of lame sub right from start. proudly9ja: How many times do I have to explain to you that you make substitutions based on what you have on the pitch? How many times? It is unlikely you make a sub if it is a forward that is red carded. Same reason Germany did not make a sub because it was Klose. But when you red card is in defence or midfield you would be brave or silly not to make a sub to shore up your defence as you are about to be attacked. Shoring up defence does not mean you bring a lazy striker in o. proudly9ja: Excuses!!! Ghana is a better team than Greece. And Australia does not have Cannavaro, Terry, Puyol in defence as some of you tried to use as EXCUSE for our conceding. Yet Ghana could not score Australia, and Greece (the poorest team so far) thumbed us. Australia just played well and their coach made reasonable subs at the right time hence they did not concede. Lagerback messed up. |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by Sagamite(m): 9:23pm On Jun 19, 2010 |
proudly9ja: I am not desperate to find a fault. I am taking delight in showing you faults you were quick in using to condemn a black coach but refuse to find in white and make all kind of weak excuses (which you would not accept for the black coach) because you subconciously (as I predicted) give more regards to white. Stop kissing white arse. |

Sagamite: Neither do I. If that's the case, shouldn't good/world class managers be entitled to get their team selection and tactics wrong every now and then? |
Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by Sagamite(m): 11:15pm On Jun 19, 2010 |
jalether: I think they should, that is why I find it as a lame criticisms when some of these guys use it as a condemnation tool for one coach and then see nothing wrong if it is another coach. When some said Amodu is a bad coach and should be sacked because he drew with Mozambique, I reminded them that all the coaches that they wanted to replace him have done worse with stronger team. One of their favourite references was Scolari. And I had to point out that Scolari took Portugal with Figo, Deco, Christiano, Maniche etc to draw with Leichenstein (a country with population of 38K). All the criticism and excuse they used to calumniate Amodu I have found lame. Hence why I cherish pointing out to them when the coaches they refer to and rever so much deliver the same Amodu delivers. Then you see them struggling to find excuses and say "it was a mistake in the case of the whitey, it would not happen again". |
