Children's Day.

Children's Day was established in NIGERIA in the year 1964,it's  a day to celebrate children, before we divulge into much details, let me remind you of the evolution behind children day.

Children's Day was named ROSE DAY In its earlier years, then later it was changed to FLOWER SUNDAY,then now we have what we call it CHILDREN'S DAY.

Children's Day is not just a day to celebrate children  for who they are,but to bring awareness to children around the GLOBE that have experienced violence in forms of abuse, exploitation and discrimination,.Children are used as laborers in some countries, they feel the effects of wars which could make them suffer physical and psychological trauma.

Imagine the rate little children abducted, kidnapped, killed and given guns, they would say 'CHILD SOLDIER', a good example of this was displayed during the 'RWANDA GENOCIDE OF 1994',also,it happened Nigeria, during the NIGERIA-BIAFRA war. The INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION (ILO) in 1999 adopted the prohibition and elimination of worst forms of child slavery, child prostitution, child pornography etc,I celebrate the vigor of our former SECRETARY-GENERAL, BANKI-MOON of the UNITED NATIONS who led the initiative for our children's education in September 2012,all this efforts were to eliminate child slavery.

Though, different countries with different dates to celebrate children, for instance, in MEXICO, it's celebrated in APRIL 30TH,some countries celebrate theirs JUNE1ST,in NIGERIA,it's celebrated on May 27th in which public holiday is well observed by both primary and secondary school children whereby few kids are selected to MARCH PAST in a parade.

As it's worthwhile engaging the children in various activities in love, let the love be reached out to the less privileged ones, the orphanage home, your next door kids that have nothing to wear,no where to go,love,no matter how little does a lot in children's heart.

it's really an eyesore seeing little kids treated with disdain, I believe that the eyes of children always tell the truth,so why don't we show them love, make them feel we are there for them. If you think you have no kids,or no siblings, or you are far from all,can you just take a minute and retrace your memory to the ones abducted, kidnapped, killed, mutilated by the BOOK HARAM,and those who are now at the IDP CAMP. In Nigeria,UNICEF confirmed 11m children are suffering from acute malnutrition in Nigeria. As at 2017,60% Nigerian children suffer sexual, physical violence.

However, these children really immersed their believe in "HOPE",believing one day, they would be loved by some one, they would be celebrated.

Children are the future of tomorrow

They possess a beauty and determination inside which must be led  to the right path and be taught well.

Children!!! Their laughter reminds me of what we used to be.

We were once a child, then we grew into an adult

Because we decided to never walk in anyone's shadow

If we fail, if we succeed

At least we believe, so we live.

The greatest love of all happened to us all

Which is YOU..!!!

Give a child a chance to be loved,

Give a child the freedom to explore

                       HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY.

     FEED A CHILD,FEED A NATION ☆
