He was given the porridge under a condition which he accepted. A Muslim giving you food doesn't do so under a condition. You need to stop breeding hate and misunderstanding.
You can only be sure of YOUR intentions towards someone else, you cant be sure of someone's intention towards you. You may say in ur heart that's it's just food, but you don't know exactly what the muslim person has done to it b4 bringing it to you. The best type of food to eat is the one you witnessed the preparation

I am not sure I can eat food prepared by a moslem. I'm just wired that way. Even food given to us during Christmas was thrown away but now that I'm grown up, If I won't eat I don't collect. I have never had any moslem friend in my whole life.

A woman close to my family that follows her mother's religion (Christianity) but sometimes partake in Ramadan (her father is a moslem) gave us Salah food, nobody ate it in my family, chio, even the drinks. My brother was the only one that ate the food for 2 days and drank the malts.

But I actually don't think it's wrong ooo.

Read 1Corinthians 10: 20 - 31 for the answer to that question but first of all, ask Holy Spirit to open your eyes and spiritual life to understand the mysteries of life and also direct and guide you to read and understand the GOD's word. As you obey, may you really be blessed in the name of JESUS CHRIST! Amen!!!

So you would reject food from a person of another religion for what reason exactly?

1 Corinthians 10:27 would open your small mind.
I would reject it because I know of the hatred they and their god bear towards Christians

I would reject it because accepting it is tantamount to participating in a spiritual exercise ordained by a god and a prophet I do not worship or believe in

I would reject it because the Muslim smiling at me today can and most likely will hurt me greatly if there is a choice to be made between me and his religion

Lastly, I would reject it because their fast is not done secretly but openly (Read Matthew 6: 16 - 18)

do not generalize. I've met Muslims that if they don't tell you they are. You wouldn't know. Even the ones that you know are Muslims, I've met a tin of them that will help me out in ways a fellow Christian will never help. A lot of Muslims I know are selfless regardless of religion. I'm sorry if you haven't met loving Muslims but I have. Oh yes... I live in Nigeria too.

I love my Muslim friends more than the so called Christian ones.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it.
If it’s the last time you checked. Then you need to check again and know that their god commands them to hate Jews and Christians while your God commands you to love your enemies.

Common sense need to tell you we are not serving the same God.

Don't be clever by half. The exact quotation is " There is no god except Allah ( God) and Muhammad is his messenger. The first god begins with small capital which is even used or referred to in your Bible as "god" as idol god.
Stop your hypocrate. Allah is referred to God everywhere in the Quaran.

Nawao na fight? you're trying to correct me on something I've been hearing since when... try to comment on Islam threads and see what stares at you. I watch Islamic programs on TV and at a time I was a fan of a particular comedy drama on an Islamic TV. Before every program, they make that declaration. so my brother you cannot confuse me.

Okay let's even use your sentence and replace Allah with God.... There is no God/god except God. does it make sense? Now assuming Sango worshippers make that declaration, here is how it will go... There is no God/god except Sango. Now compare.

On the side, it's good that you are modifying Islamic stuff to go by modern and moderate standards. you're better than those ones who will say that the Quran covers all and whatever isn't covered is filth. Those that say the religion is unquestionable and shouldn't be modified like the Christians do.

my only problem with you now is that you are making it seem as if your modification has been there all along ,whereas it wasn't and still isn't.

1 Corinthians 10:27-28 New International Version (NIV)

27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience.

If the food is given to you with the consciousness that it’s for Ramadan, don’t collect. Allah is an Arabian idol. He is not the true God Christians and Jews serve. Bible says don’t eat any food offered unto idol if you have the knowledge that it’s meant for idol. But if you don’t have any knowledge about what the food is meant for, you can eat it without asking ang question and putting your conscience in trouble. NB: This message is not for every so called Christian. But for true Christians.

Well said....

Although this 1 Corinthians 10:27-29 seems so contradictory can you explain further using the bible passage.

According to the bible, it is not the food a man eats that defiles a man but what comes out of that man. .so for me it is not bad as long as you pray over it before eating. Remember the earth is the Lords' and its fullness thereof.

How do you know it was not under a condition? Did you prepare the food with him/her? Do you know of the muslims intentions by that act? Have you ever heard of "Sarra"? It's done by Yoruba Muslims (I don't know if it is called another thing in mainstream Islam) Basically what happens in Sarra is that a Muslim with a problem (Barrenness, impotence, poverty, etc) buys Some food items, chants certain Quranic passages on the food, then prepares the food and shares it to NON-MUSLIMS living within his vicinity. At least one of the people who eat such food will either die or have the same problems transferred to him/her while the problems leave the muslim. Some of the rich ones throw really big celebration parties in order to share this food usually to children and young adults (coz they still have vigour) You have to stay woke bro. Says someone who will be willing to be employed by anyone religious or not, one who won't reject the money given to him by a Muslim, even one who walks on the road commissioned by a Muslim.

All is consumption bro
If someone employs me, muslim or not, it simply means that he/she needs me to render certain services and he/she pays me in return. The Muslim is not dashing me the money. He or she is exchanging money for my services

I'll also like to see that Muslim that will give a Christian money without any strings attached (eg Family Relative, Loan, Cooperative money, buying and selling, etc)

A Muslim that commissions a road can only do so because of (political) power vested upon the person by the government eg a public office holder, etc. A muslim cannot commission a road simply because he/she is a muslim

I know you are educated, I wonder why you'll bring up instances as ridiculous as those in order to discredit my earlier stance

Please read;
Concerning Food Sacrificed to Idols
1 Corinthians 8:1-13

8 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know. 3 But whoever loves God is known by God.[a]

4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.” 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

7 But not everyone possesses this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. 8 But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.

9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols? 11 So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. 12 When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.

Based on that Bible verses that says if anyone invites you for dinner. Inviting strangers or people for dinner in ones home is actually not too entrenched in our culture. But it’s a good thing. It’s a common practice in the West. A family can just take interest in you and love you and wish you could be part of their family by inviting you to dinner in their home or at a choice restaurant. Remember this is not a celebration perse.

But inviting you for a dinner for a particular celebration has told you what the dinner is meant for. So this kind of dinner is different from the one mentioned in that book of Corinthian. A dinner in celebration of Ramadan must be abstained from. That’s a representation of food for idol worship. That’s what it meant in verse 28.

And if I think I’m so strong in faith that I don’t believe idol exists and that I can bless the food and eat without hurting my conscience, what about weak believers looking at you, they will abuse the Liberty you have and they will do worst things because they have seen brother so and so do it. Therefore they will stumble just because what they see you do. Making you at fault with God. So Jesus say it better a millstone is tied around the neck of such person, you know the rest. So why not completely refrain from it since it will hurt the conscience of other Christians seeing you do it.

Allah is not the Arabic word for God. Check the following sentence made by Muslims... there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet.
if Allah means God, then will the sentence be reasonable if its said,,, there's no God but God, and Muhammad is his prophet?
Pathetic, Even the bible said "my people perish coz they lack knowledge".....you don't have knowledge, wisdom, nothing. So is that how to spell the "God" being referred to there?. It is "there is no other god(deity) to be worshipped other than Allah(God). You are just senseless

I didn't want to comment on this issue before but it wont be fair not to enlighten those who think islam or Muslims are forbidden from eating christains food
According to the Qur'an
1) what type of foof is forbidden for Muslims:

“Forbidden to you for food are: the dead animals (not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and the meat of that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for other than Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols, or on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering; and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns – and that which has been partly eaten by a wild animal – unless you are able to slaughter it before its death; and that which is sacrificed on stone altars. Forbidden also is to use arrows seeking luck or decision, all that is disobedience of Allah and sin.” [al-Māʼidah 5:3]

2) are Muslims allowed to eat food from christains or jews..
Answer: This day I have made lawful to you all that is good, and the slaughtered meat of the People of the Book (jews and christains) is halāl for you and your slaughtered meat is halāl for them.” [Quran 5:6].
So in other wordsYes!!! Because they're not considered as idol worshippers by the Quran and we believe in principle we came from the same Abrahamic religion (hanif) and thus worship the same God in "principle"... Though concept tends to differ when we expatiate... The verse quoted above also made our food lawful to them...

So as long as the food served by a Christian or jew doesn't contain the unlawful foods contained in the first question like pork, ham, meat offered for idols or blood meal and not properly slaughtered... Ee Muslims are allowed to eat and ask for more self if possible
BUT WE MUSLIMS AREN'T ALLOWED TO EAT CHRISTMAS FOOD NOT BECAUSE IT'S SERVED BY XTAINS BUT BECAUSE OF THE CELEBRATION INVOLVED WHICH YOU XTAINS WILL AGREE WITH ME THAT 25TH OF DECEMBER ISNT THE DAY JESUS WAS BORN BUT WHEN THE IDOLS OF THE ROMAN gods WERE WORSHIPED OR WHEN THE PEOPLE OF THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE WORSHIP THEIR SUN GOD AND ALSO XTAINS TAKE IT AS THE DAY IN WHICH THEIR GOD WAS BORN WHICH WE TAKE SERIOUS OBJECTION TO .... READ MORE ON GOOGLE
WELL THAT'S MY BIT, MAY GOD FORGIVE ME FOR THINGS I SAID WHICH IS WRONG

Jesus would not visit the tax collector’s home on the day he was celebrating his idol lest Jesus eat of idol food and became a stumbling block for his followers. He would rather visit on a neutral day just like he did.

Most of them Christians don't even fast, they claim it is not mandatory....levity!. Did Jesus(ASW) clap and dance whenever he wanted to worship his God( or they may say he is God now).
