At least four persons died and one injured in fatal auto crash at the popular Jattu Junction, along the Benin-Auchi expressway in EtsakoWest Local Government Area of Edo State on Friday 25th May. It was learnt that the tragic accident occurred when a speeding trailer loaded with cement lost control due to break failure and rammed into three vehicles. According to eyewitnesses, the truck picked up a golf car in motion, dragged it down a hill and this collided with two other cars dragging them and then collided with another trailer, this resulted into multiple gruesome death The Head of Operations and acting state Sector Commander of the FRSC, Samson Eniyemo, who confirmed the incident attributed it to brake failure and speed. Railway is the solution to all these. A functioning railway system connecting all major cities in Nigeria will reduce road traffic accidents to almost zero, by reducing congestion on our highways, leaving the roads for only private car users. I think it's high time regulatory agencies curb the actions of these over speeding trailer drivers that have caused too much Havoc on the Nigerian road. RIP to the Dead. |
